Thanks guys.............I`m ready to battle this shit but it`s gonna be a long and brutal fray.

This is just the beginning.

No more than a battle against the iron, and no more brutal than going against the warriors of the thong on the stage. You walked this world before cancer was around, and you’ll be around after it’s gone. You’ll be alright old man.

Thanks bud I appreciate the support.

Kind of hard lately to stay positive mentally.......too much time to sit and dwell on the negative thoughts that  keep creeping back into my mind in spite of me trying to stay busy.

Hope it's great news on the 16th. Hope they give you the result on the same day so you don't have to stress. If it is malignant I pray it's treatable.

On December 2, I had a polyp surgically removed (minor day surgery). No big deal right? Five days later, the wound burst open and literally turned into bloody fountain and pain in the ass. I ended up in ICU bleeding my guts out. My pulse rate dropped to 32, hematocrit went from 57.1 % to 37.6 % and hemoglobin fell from 18.5 to 12.5 gm/dl.  The doctor and a crowd of other medical staff went berserk. Emergency surgery was scheduled for 2:00 a.m. but became unnecessary as the bleeding subsided.

The good news is that on Monday, the doctor told me the polyp was benign and yesterday, he discharged me at noon. -Home now and feeling fiesty as heck. No cancer of the colon. Yahoo!

Bodybuilding related. Not supposed to lift more than 20 lbs for the next 30 days. Guess that nixes the gym.  :(

Wes, When I realized how much I was bleeding, I was sure I'd bleed to death. Sometimes, no matter how bad you think something is, you find out you're going to be a-okay. Hang in there, buddy. Stay positive.

Welcome back!  That's a hella terrifying experience.

You have an amazingly high natural Hct.  Have you performed in endurance sports?  You would need
a medical waiver to compete in organized endurance sports.

My trained (cycling) Hct is 44-45, but after two months off the bike because of an inattentive motorist,
it dropped to 36.

The Hct range for men is 38.8% to 52%. So yes, mine was high. High enough that my urologist would reduced the dose or completely take me off TRT. I am going to have to try and control it by having blood drawn on a regular basis.  Know any vampires who might help me out?

It would be nice to think of my normally high Hct as insurance against a natural tendency for it to decrease as we age. For men that can start in their 6th decade. A diet high in protein may also explain my high Hct. According to my doctor, drinking more fluids can help bring it down. Dehydration—this is the most common cause of a high hematocrit.

The health concerns with high Hct are: congenital heart disease, dehydration, kidney tumor, lung diseases, polycythemia vera (a rare blood cancer).
