Not to mention can somehow afford thousands of dollars more on steroids per month. All this while paying for his cost of living and other expenses.

I've met professional bodybuilders that were bringing in good money every month, top 5 guys do it by way of sponsorships and speaking engagements, the vast majority of others did it by gay 4 pay engagements and illegal drug sales.

I don’t think I spend $2k a month eating out and groceries and I’ve got kids too. I couldn’t imagine a $6,000 month food bill.

In 2006, I recall Jay Cutler stating that he had a penchant for sushi.  I believe this was a penchant for restaurant sushi, at a cost of around $50 per outing, and he may have been eating it daily in the off-season.  That was a rather expensive penchant, but I can see Jay paying the ~$1,500 a month on sushi.  In his bodybuilding.com video series [it was on YouTube recently, and should still be on there] Jay stated that he spends $100,000 a year on massages from Registered Massage Therapists, and he stated elsewhere that another bill was "100 grand a year" [possibly his total grocery bill, but I forget].

I'm not sure if Jay mentioned both $100K per year expenses in that video series, but I think I'm remembering that correctly:

- $100K per year on massages.
- $100K per year on food.
- $100K per year on PEDs [just my guess].

Or maybe the 2x$100K per year expenses were on massages, and my/our [Getbig's] estimated cost of his PEDs.  Back in the day, people would guess that top pros would pay $60K or more per year on gear.

Is that $60K figure accurate?  $5K per month?  Are pros on GH year-round, and is GH alone over $1,000 monthly?

I could see Jay spending so wildly...after all, he was one of the pros likely making $1.5 million a year - combine that with his real estate investments in Las Vegas, and being good with money, and I could see him shelling out some serious coin for some of these things.

No. I used to blow $600/month on sushi.

Then my opiate problem kicked in and instead of going through $7-8k a year on sushi, I switched to $7-8k (usually$8,400 actually) a month on opiates and the sushi took a backseat.

That $600/m was sushi for me and my ex, usually. So like 20-something each, plus tip. So like 10 $60 dinners a month.

Well you spent a lot (for 2 people) and Branch spent 3 times as much as you did!

Can all pro athletes do this? What is the limit they can write off; a one person enterprise spending $6k a month on food when their income is prize money based seems like it’s inviting an audit.

Vince what are some of the other tax breaks pro athletes get?

Avg for all you can eat sushi is like $25, and if you buy a la cart, a decent amount of sushi (maybe 2 rolls, or 1 roll and 4 nigiri) is like $30. Really not that much for something as delicious as sushi.

I made some CA egg rolls (it's like a CA roll except wrapped in wonton and fried) and it cost me like $10-15 , although I could've made enough to fill 3 people.

If you make your own, you're gonna pay like $17/lb of sushi-grade/grade-A tuna (sure as fuck don't wanna make sushi yourself with salmon if it's not smoked. It's the most common sushi fish to cause food poisoning.  Most sushi chefs won't eat salmon sushi), then like $4 for a pack of seaweed wraps, and a bottle of Mirin, sugar, and the rice... And then the wasabi you're better off just buying from a sushi restaurant, since the shit you buy in the store doesn't  have the same flavor and is just hot... Plus soy sauce, Japanese mayo (Kewpie for example, runs like $6 for a container). So you could eat a pound of sushi a day (tuna) for like $140-150/wk.

For people who don't really like to cook, buying sushi every day beats the hell outta burgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders or breasts, potatoes and rice.

Figure a burger or chicken sandwiche at a Restaurant will run you $10-14 + tip as well, and all you get is fries.

I'd rather eat spaghetti-o's or hot dogs than spend all the time making a day's worth of chicken breasts and baked potatoes (even the ones for $2 wrapped in plastic you cook in the microwave).

They can write off anything related to competing in bodybuilding...massages, sports therapy, gym memberships, etc.   Audit was nothing to worry about...its really all in the tax code and similiar to other professional athletes.

It's about $55 per person at Nobu in Malibu.  Remember his wife competed for years.  I mean it's possible but unlikely to hit $2k in a given month for both of them.

Thought Nobu sucked. Best sushi I've had is either Sushi Asahi in Riverside, or Sushi Deli 2 downtown San Diego. Asahi is AYCE and only like $17 before like 4 & $22 after. Cheap AF and the best hamachi I've had anywhere.

Athletes can't write off food. Everyone needs food to live and work- regardless of whether or not you need more of it to put on or maintain muscle. Athletes can deduct food as part of travel expenses or business meals, but not their daily groceries.

- $100K per year on massages.
- $100K per year on food.
- $100K per year on PEDs [just my guess].

100k per year on massages ? That's like almost 300 bucks a day... would be a lot cheaper to just get some Thai girl.
I honestly doubt that anyone spends that much on massages ... that would be like what 3 hours of daily massages at a rather expensive rate?

100k per year on food seems ridiculous to me too, even if you're only eating prime beef filet and stuff like that... but it might be possible in some countries where food is really expensive and if you're eating out twice a day.

100k per year on PEDs has to be bullshit. AAS cost next to nothing, even at 10gs per week (and I doubt most pros use close to that) including tren that would be like 1000$ a month MAX ... but probably closer to 500$ per month on AAS alone would be more realistical. GH is pretty expensive at high doses but not THAT expensive either... even if you're willing to believe pros take 36 IU a day that would be like 1500 - 3000 $ per month if that. I'm sure some pro size bodybuilders with good connections will spend less than 1000$ total per month on gear including GH.

Warren is from a wealthy family isn't he?

He owns a very successful trucking company. And top tier pro bodybuilders make a good living. He's also smart with his money like Jay and has good investments. Branch is a good guy and was always a serious and hard working person. His comments on how being married and raising a family are instrumental in developing as a person shows his intelligence and self-reflection.

The ability to step outside of yourself and examine objectively what kind of person you are and have become is something not everyone can do.
