Has Nasser ever overcome losing the Olympia in 1997 ?
« on: March 19, 2020, 07:16:22 AM »
Sounded very bitter there many years later. Has this loss haunted him til his early death? Has he even died from a broken heart after all? :-\

Nasser is still alive with Prince, Eazy-z and Adolf Hitler somewhere in the south american jungle.

He looked amazing in his prime but when he showed his back he couldn't hang with Yates.

Few "got over" the 97 Olympia.  2 from the show are dead(Matarazzo and Nasser), 3 would end up with so many injuries they would have stop competing(Fux, Dorian and Ronnie), and two suffered permanent kidney or other internal lifelong damage requiring lifetime dialysis or other care(Flex and Francois, although Flex was prepping and missed the show with ninja story).

Amazing, dead, permanent orthopedic injuries, damaged kidneys and other health issues.

why wouldn't it bother him years later?  you get that close to winning, most people with two eyes can see you deserved to win, and then you get 2nd place??  who wouldn't be bitter about that?

it's not just placing 2nd that hurts him, if he won he could've forever be known as an olympia champion and he would've made tons more money in appearances

maybe if he won he wouldn't have felt the need to still be big after retirement, maybe subconsciously he felt like he still had something to prove because he wasn't validated with the title

nobody truly gets over 2nd place in any sport, 2nd place can feel worse than last

Makes sense. Maybe that's also the reason for the silly, useless comebacks from the likes of Flex, Levrone etc.

He came out and said exactly this in an interview, he had even calculated the money amount so it's fair to say he was bitter, understandably so.

Mr. Levrone's comeback looks like a smart move, he now has a successful supplement line and seems to be traveling all over the world

Yeah finacially you can't really argue, but his reputation as a competitor in my eyes was pretty soured, he looked like an out of place old man both times he was on stage...

Nasser was the epitome of a beautiful, bespectacled man.  That being said, he did not win, nor did he deserve to win the 97 Olympia with state level back development.
RIP.

Luimarco is a funny dude! He says nobody since "Adam and Eve" has come close to Dorian's rear lat spread! Colorful way to put it!

Nasser was not robbed in 97 his only perceivable advantage being oil filled arms and his structure was sub par. His back actually was pretty good that year. Being all drugs very much like Tyranosaurus Ramy meant Nasser could not drop enough water. If Nasser lowered his dosages to get dry he would lose size and couldnt hang so he sacrificed conditioning and at the end of the day he simply did not have the genetics to beat Dorian or Ronnie for the sandow.

I mean look at Nasser when he turned pro and you can bet he was already on tons of gear so what do you think it took for him to add like 40lbs stage weight in what 3 years maybe 4? I heard he was the first to take a gram of test a day and that wouldnt surprise me. Youre never getting conditioned from the back on a gram of test a day i mean come on
