Who wants to do bjj these days anyway? Big chance of getting the Coronavirus

Much safer to kick somebody in the face

And smash them to bits when they're down.  Grabbing their head and smashing it into the concrete then turning them on their front and smashing their spine in

BJJ is very effective. I've used it enough times over the years with altercations (that I tried at all costs to avoid).

What I will say is that I've always trained in both boxing and BJJ. I think BJJ is great, but I believe a striking game is incredibly necessary.

Going to the ground is great for BJJ guys and wrestlers, but if you fight a guy with great takedown defense and you only know BJJ, there goes everything you had in your bag of tricks.

Striking: Muay Thai > Kickboxing > Boxing (how I rank it)

Ground game: Wrestling > BJJ

Never be a one trick pony.

Everytime I'm in a bar fight and I drop to the ground and tell people to jump into my guard so I can submit them they start kicking me.  >:(

I dropped a krav maga guy. Dude tried to grab me by the throat and knee me in the balls. I put him in a wrist lock hammer kicked his right collar bone. All because his girlfriend couldn't keep her paws off my biceps.

Where I live almost every BJJ school also offers striking or Muy Thai to be more well rounded.
I think the goal would to be well rounded fighter like Bas Rutten. He is excellent on his feet
or on the ground. Plus he loves head butts and liver shots. He's not afraid to teach real street fighting.
If schools teach like he does you can pretty well rounded. Let's face it most aholes in a bar
are only trained in sucker punches and sloppy hooks.

One of the best strategies for a bar fight is avoiding visiting a bar.

If you end up in a fight the person you are fighting is unlikely to be alone, so going to ground is fucking stupid..

Are you insinuating Elvis took drugs? A fine athlete like that would never jeopardise his health

Darren if you had to play an air guitar rendition of Free Bird using a fully erect penis, would you rather use Goodrum’s or Wiggs’ “guitar”?
