But who did Lee Haney beat? Lee Labrada who was 50 pounds lighter. Rich Gaspari who was genetically inferior. Gary Strydom who had no back development. Mike Christian who had weak legs. A young Shawn Ray who was short and narrow.

Not sure the point of this as it is irrelevant.  Haney can't be criticized for his height and mass just because other competitors were shorter and smaller.  Heath is not taller, heavier or bigger than his counterparts - actually with a few exceptions, they all seem to be the standard 5'5"-5'10", 2XX lbs mold.   The fact that Heath stands out from the group shows how shallow the pool is.  The pros now days are nothing of note compared to how the competition was in the previous generation.  I can go back and tell you the top 5 placings are the Mr O that Haney, Dorian and most of the ones Ronnie won.

I can't tell you who came in 2nd place in the past 10 Mr. O's.  Simply because they are lackluster.

what difference does it make who he beat?  you saw the pics, nobody other than ronnie is beating that, maybe dorian in 93 but definitely not the other years

you can argue ronnie's competition wasn't the best other than jay for most of his reign with guys like gustavo badell, gunther, and pre prime dexter, that's a silly reason to criticize the wins when anybody with two eyes can see not many guys in history can beat that in a show

kai would probably beat most 90's guys and i hate his body, as ugly as his body is it's very complete in the mandatories

dexter in the early part of last decade was just as good as he ever was, which was better than shawn ray as he and most have pointed out

shawn rhoden would've been an elite guy in the 90's

they had better looking bodies in the 90's, that doesn't make them better bodybuilders than phil's era, and by the time ronnie's era started all of the 90's guys were past their prime aside from maybe flex in 98 and 99 but then you can say he had too much oil

and yes haney's competition sucked, he finally got some competition in 91 and then quit
