I am to the point I want everyone who thinks COVID is a hoax to go about their lives like nothing has changed. Only when they have a family member who dies from it will they take it serious but based on GetBig, it really is the only way it is going to work. too many morons think its a joke

A hoax?  No one thinks it's  a hoax. People are angry because of the constant flow of misinformation and miscommunication that is being spread by media and health  officials. People are being told to stay away from places indoors and  various activities yet all along they can still cram in Home Depot, Walmart and Costco.

We see the experts telling us to wear facial coverings and maintain distance and then numerous videos and photos of said experts appear doing the exact opposite of what they recommend.

We see the death toll numbers due to covid and apparently people are dying in record numbers, except for those who are on tv or are public officials.

If lockdowns prevent the spread of the virus wouldn't we see an improvement in numbers?  Instead we see cases climbing upwards....

Exactly.

People who view the virus as real, super contagious, and bad for certain people can also question the process and massive inconsistencies surrounding the reactions to it.  Instead, those people get conflated with hoaxers

It’s the second week of September and they’re already looking at Halloween? Since when do politicians plan anything that far in advance?

The election. You have some states to cancel Halloween, it plants into people's minds that it's still deadly out there, and it makes it easier to push for mailed in ballots, play with the turn outs, etc...., etc.....

They cancel Halloween, but people can protest their asses off during one of the roughest parts of the pandemic with tacit approval ::).

Outdoor group protests = harmless

Outdoor social events = deadly

Social distancing standing in line at grocery store (or post office or DMV) = harmless

Social distancing standing in line to vote = dangerous

THIS.

Why doesn't someone have the balls to organize some good old fashion civil disobedience. That one thing I give the Left credit fit. When they don't like something they get out there and fight. The Right just suck it  up and complain. If everybody just goes about their business practicing their rights granted by God what are they going to do? If you want to go out Trick or Treating -- do it.

THIS.

THIS too.

Agnostic’s post is misdirected. It’s the equivalent of saying anyone who thinks police aren’t killing innocent black men deserves to be beat to death by the police.

Police are killing black men and all other races of men. But the issues with black men are becoming the narrative that is being pushed. Police reform should be a real topic but the majority of cops aren’t bad people who are poorly trained.

Covid is real but it can’t be as deadly as it’s being touted if we have multiple incidents of riots and civil unrest but the death numbers aren’t affecting those areas and participants at all.  At this point there should be multiple accounts of Portland rioters on their deathbeds who wished they took the virus seriously.

We have multiple of these stories taken from families who had birthday party’s but not one story of a courageous rioter who has been stricken with the virus.

But Halloween will be a tinder box that will cause the numbers to explode.

This cannot be enforced....

Today, tomorrow, next week, etc. - Kids can dress up, knock on people's doors, and be given candy.  What difference does it make what date this happens?  They changed the wording of the stupid order because it cannot be enforced.

Use your brain....... Figure out an alternate day to have Halloween, like the day before.  This way, your shit city cannot put something out fast enough to further restrict your freedom.

Police are being forced into using lethal force against all races of people who violently resist arrest.

The police are not just out randomly killing innocent black men.

So this was the talk of the town this morning as news broke that Los Angeles County, or some IDIOT there decided to ban Halloween, Trick or Treating and anything remotely good with the holiday.  Parents were outraged.  It is one thing to be careful about Covid-19, but another thing to go absolutely crazy, as LA County does.  Deciding something 2 months from now. But alas, after complete outrage, they walked back on the stupid rules.

Here was the initial proclamation from the idiots (someone should be fired over this crap)

“Door-to-door trick-or-treating is not allowed because it can be very difficult to maintain proper social distancing on porches and at front doors especially in neighborhoods that are popular with trick or treaters,” the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health said in its recently released guidelines. “‘Trunk-or-treating’ events where children go from car to car instead of door to door to receive treats are also not allowed.”

Gatherings or parties with non-household members are not permitted, even if held outdoors, and neither are carnivals, festivals, live entertainment or haunted house attractions.

So what can families do to safely celebrate the spooky holiday?

They can participate in online parties and contests, such as costume or pumpkin carving; car parades that comply with public health guidance for vehicle-based parades; Halloween movie nights at drive-in theaters; Halloween-themed meals at outdoor restaurants; Halloween-themed art installations at an outdoor museum; and decorating homes and yards with Halloween-themed decorations.

They shouldn't have bothered to ban Halloween related events and activities, such as trick or treating. Chances are very few parents are going to let their kids participate in these things.

Duh, yeah...flyover country already doing this for a while now. Guess what? Nothing happened. People are living.

Flyover country....For the first months of the pandemic, the mayor of La Grande, Oregon, governed a city whose residents regarded COVID-19 as somebody else’s problem; something for big cities to worry about.

Then, suddenly, it was La Grande’s problem.

"They got used to the belief that the virus wasn't going to get us here. Even though I wore a mask, I was very relaxed about this whole thing," Mayor Stephen Clements told OPB in June, shortly after over a hundred COVID-19 cases in his county were linked to a church service. La Grande is in the rural Northeast corner of Oregon, hours from the nearest major metropolitan center.

“There’s this belief that Eastern Oregon is just people living isolated at the end of a long dirt road,” said Tveit, who is also CEO of the Lake County Health District, which serves one of Oregon’s most remote and least populous regions. “It’s a shame that people have that view, because it’s not true.”

Fucks sake not this same old lame argument, people die all the time, do you go around shouting at smokers if you have had a family member die of lung cancer?

My mother is 82, she goes shopping, if she dies of Covid she dies, so fucking what, what difference does it make, many people die of avoidable diseases and ailments, its a risk you take every time you leave the house.
Do you expect people to stay in and never go out again, or keep up this way of life forever?

Unfortunately, Fox is a hardcore leftist in real life.

Is he really that committed?  Someone said to me the other day he's a real ditherer...

Covid kills 0.0006% of the people infected.

By the year 2030 the US obesity rate will be 50%.

I don’t see anyone calling for fat people to wear masks to keep them from eating.

I'm not quite as old as your mother. But like her, I go out shopping and have even recently started going the the gym again. For us more mature folks, life may be short. We might as well enjoy it to the fullest. The alternative isn't very much fun. Hide in the house and worry about getting sick....nope!

On the other hand, I hope my kids give a fuck whether I die of COVID-19 or anything else. You're comment makes it seem like you don't much like your mom.....hopefully, that is not the case.

Here's a thought, if your mom or I get COVID-19 and know we have it, we are really going to be stuck at home, like in quarantine. Doubt your mom would much like that. I know I wouldn't.

Who knew a person could catch being fat? Why don't you tell us how that works. The reason people wear masks is to avoid spreading COVID-19 at least as much as to avoid catching it.

I dont care if LA tries to ban Halloween. Being a resident, I still plan to go through with my Halloween setup. In fact, It will be bigger than last year. I imagine a lot of people wont be decorating . I had over 2000 people on Halloween night last year. Being that Halloween falls on a Saturday,  I am expecting more people this year. Especially since I will be one of the only places in town to go to that is FREE. I will be up every saturday during the month of October. It's not a Haunted House. Its just a decoration but its worth seeing in person. Here is my vid from last Halloween:
