You know damn well they are counting anyone who dies with Covid a Covid death regardless of what other disease or condition they had before.
The question is would they have died at this point in time had they not contracted Covid? Unless you can say definitively that they would have died anyway, they died because they got Covid.
If someone has had diabetes for decades which eventually causes damage to all the organs in a person's body and they died when their kidneys failed, would you say they died of kidney failure or did they die of diabetes because they had that first?
Likewise, if someone with COPD a chronic inflammatory lung disease that causes obstructed airflow from the lungs contracts Covid and dies because they were unable to breathe well enough to maintain an oxygen saturation level high enough to sustain life, what would you say they died from?
