You're confusing causing wrinkling with accelerating wrinkling.

Lol- you can't ever admit you are wrong. Carry on.

Lol- you can't ever admit you are wrong. Carry on.

And you fail to understand the very articles you post.

"In the process of photoaging resulting from solar UV radiation, skin may experience loss of collagen and elastic fibers, which, along with a reduction in the synthesis of hyaluronic acid (HA), eventually leads to wrinkle formation, dryness, and loss of elasticity"

"Although both intrinsic and extrinsic processes cause age-dependent skin alterations, changes are more prominent in photoaged skin"

It might help if you actually read the articles you post next time.

I never thought I'd say this, but - kill both of them!

Only on Getbig do some posters obsess so much  about a man's hair.

And c0ck.  Mustn't forget that

I wanted to jump in here on the hair thing.

I’ve left the restroom shortly after Jay and he is shedding profusely. I counted at least 67 hairs in the sink after he washed his hands, removed his hat and ran his fingers through his hair.

I’d guess that if he had used a comb there would have been even more hair!

I’ll keep everyone updated.

 ;D ;D ;D

We need a thread with all retired bodybuilders that are white and still have hair, from the 90s.

Great idea - set it up!!

my routine which has worked well

ive been using rogaine since my mid 20s and now creeping in my late 30s and hairline is good. gotta start before the hairloss starts

Rogaine topical 2x per week
1 per week ketoconazole shampoo
.5 mg Avodart 1x per week *yes 1 dose per week while most do it daily*

^^^ all of this can be done under $200 per year.

icing on the cake
3x per year PRP injections into my scalp about $900 - $1200 for these

eat a healthy diet and take proper health supplements (Omegas 3, 6, 9 and saw palmetto)

Anyone here use/do anything for facial skin to keep young? Like Retin A, perhaps some microneedling?  :D
If anyone here is in the EU and has a source for Retin A/tretinoin, let me know  :D

-wear sunscreen daily (never go out unless you have it on) I live in AZ fyi
-get some professional chemical peels  (1x every 3-6 months)
-eat healthy diet

i do micro needling 1x per week with .25 mm roller and .5 mm roller over a few acne scars. i would start at 2x per week with a .25 mm roller. give it 3-6 months

retin-A works but start super low.... 1x per week at lowest dose.  (make sure you wear sunscreen if you use it) do not use retin-a on the days you would micro needle.

pretty boy bitch checking in  ;D

seems like a lot, but simple shit

Wait...what even makes you think you need that?  Judging from your photos, you have no hair loss.  Did you actually experience any hairloss to cause you to use this program, or was this all preventative?

Yes I have zero hairloss (37 as of last month) all due to be preventative.  I started Rogaine in my mid 20s, then added in the Avodart this year and PRP this last year.

I got on Rogaine in my mid 20s since a friend of mine (older) and he was shredding hair: he told me to get on it ASAP.  I owe him a thank you

You live life on the edge, don't you? ;D

My brother used everything under the sun for 10 years and he's bald.

If you have the genetics, you can only slow it down. Thankfully my hair loss has been so slow it's no big deal.

You're lucky that you don't seem to have the MPB gene.

Have the Rogaine at hand if there are bald men on the mothers side of the family (her brothers).

Logically having older brothers should prove informative too. I have 2, but one went bald in his early 20s and the other still has a full head of hair in his 60s, so who knows.

I hear that a lot about mother’s side/dad, false, but in the end all genetics and weird how that works

My younger brother who is 32 started thinning in his mid 20’s, older brother who is 43, same thing. Me, no thinning, hair loss of anything.  Hope that stays the same but if I do I’ll follow tres tacos suggestions  ;D

Yeah, definitely not an exact science, but at least you get a bit of an indicator.

Turkey is cheap for hair transplants that's all, plus you can have a decent mini holiday before getting it done.

My aunt once told me that if you're not showing some signs of hair loss by 26, you are likely to keep your hair.  I think she said that 50% of men who ultimately go bald will be showing some signs of baldness by 26.  Of course there is still the other 50%, but I'll be 39 in less than a month, and haven't lost a single follicle yet, so...I think I'm one of the lucky ones.

That's a good thing too, because I love having hair.  I tried the Justin Trudeau hairstyle [or you could call it the Peter North hairstyle], and it was horrible for me.  I then shaved my head bald in the first few days of September, and didn't much care for that look either.  Now it's in between those two lengths, and I'm quite happy with it, aside from my left side being loaded with white hairs.

That's an interesting comment about having all your hair at 46...I wonder if I'll have my hair by then.  The white hairs started at 23, and sort of went on "pause" for about a decade or so, before starting to increase massively.  Maybe my hair will have a similar sort of acceleration in loss / mass follicle extinction event.

As for Jay...I never had the impression his hair was fake or that he was losing his hair.  If this is the case, he must have been really on the ball for this one.  It's not like Hapthor Bjornsson, who went from clearly balding, to having hair again within a span of one strongman contest/photos to the next.
I'll start reading a post without seeing who posted it and notice it's a fucking essay and know immediately it's Matt. Every frigging post wtf is wrong with you?  You post like someone high on cocaine.

 ;D

That is the perfect video in response to all the COVID mask-wearing idiots!  LMAO!!!  Wow!  I'm going to check out the comments and see if others came to that conclusion, haha.

Unfortunately for me, I have come to realize that I am just...getting older.  I shouldn't say "old" just yet - I'll be 39 next month - but older for sure, and that's just the way it is.  I think with a few things, I can slow the rate of aging.  Since tres_taco_combo posted his hair protocol, this would be my general anti-aging [slow aging] protocol:

[1] Eat a healthy LOW CALORIE diet, focusing on low to no carbohydrates, moderate to high protein intake, and low to moderate fat intake.  This diet would be based on the nutritional demands for a 175-lb weight class strongman competitor's requirements.  For me, 50 grams of carbohydrates or less daily would be sufficient - this one would be for health and aesthetics [in that order], which both contribute to anti-aging.  It may well help me to eat more carbohydrates, but as I see it - the only way for me to slow the aging process would be to consume fewer overall calories, and specifically, to consume fewer carbohydrates, even if they offer me a performance advantage.  My protein would be based on performance and aesthetics, not so much for health, but since I have hit all of my best lifts on under 200 grams of protein per day, I am confident that 200 grams would be sufficient.  This can be raised a little...and I may even LOOK better eating more protein, and I have no problem admitting that my two primary reasons for eating more protein than I need are competition performance and aesthetics.  It is my goal to do that within the framework of good health though, which is why I would want to be on the low end of the 1-2 grams of protein per pound of body weight recommended range for those who lift weights.

[2] Hair dye.  I think the time has come for this.  As you can see in the first photo below, what do you notice?  I look...ugh.  It angers me every time I see how may white hairs I have, especially on my left side.  Every time I look in the mirror, it throws me into a rage!  I hate it.  I heard that dyeing our hair damages it, so I want to see if there are any hair dyes on the market which minimize damage to the hair, or the follicle/roots.  Since I only badly need hair dye on the left side, I could just use it on that side, which is the problem side, and use a smaller amount of dye on the right side.  The top of my head is fine - in that I don't mind the number of white hairs on the top of my head.  Would dyeing my hair ultimately make my hair look worse?  This has made me hesitant of dyeing my hair so far.  Speaking of hair - I don't shampoo my hair often, and never did.  I think shampooing plays a role in hair quality.  And may even result in men losing their hair a little younger than they otherwise would.  When I had VERY LONG [Justin Trudeau] hair, I would pull out 5-10 hairs while shampooing.  That was from going over a year without getting a haircut, and it's not like many hairs fell out, but...if you are losing your hair, I think anything to slow down the loss of your hair would be a good thing, and shampooing did result in me losing more hairs than if I don't shampoo.  IMO, the quality of your hair is somewhat impacted too.  Hence, I only shampoo my hair about once a week.  And my hair is fine.  I always assumed genetics was why I have my hair at my age...but it's possible that lack of shampooing played a role in this too.

[3] General dental hygiene through the dental care practices in bold below, and Crest white strips from time to time.  I have the Crest Whitening kit which comes with an optic light that is supposed to help whiten the teeth.  Crest white strips work!  They absolutely work.  My only concern is that they cause damage to the enamel.  Every time I have used them, I have gotten an almost immediate result, but did so at the cost of some pain to my enamel...which leads me to believe that long-term use of this product is not a good thing.  I'm keen on reading the writing on the wall when it comes to anything...so I stopped using the strips once I noticed the pain.  Unfortunately, that means they are working.  But at what cost?  Will the long-term enamel damage make my teeth look worse in the end?  Going to the dentist three times a year is also important [and even the x-rays can potentially catch cancer early - and dentists are trained to detect cancer from dental x-rays].  I currently brush me teeth twice daily with an electronic Oral B toothbrush, which has a timer which notifies you after each minute of use.  I brush my top teeth for one minute, and my bottom teeth for one minute.  I then brush my tongue for a bit, and then I floss.  I don't know if the order of brushing/flossing matters.  I guess the argument would be to floss before brushing, so you brush out any blood or any plaque that got dislocated from flossing.  I sometimes floss after - on certain days, if for example I hadn't flossed for a few days or more and my gums are bleeding when I floss them, I usually floss after brushing until that clears up.  Just to not expose my freshly bleeding gums to any additional gum "trauma" until they recover and the gum bleeding down.  My dentist says that under 10% gum bleeding denotes no active gum disease, and I achieved that after brushing and flossing twice a day, brushing for two minutes with an electronic Oral B toothbrush, further broken down to exactly one minute for my top teeth, and one minute for my bottom teeth.  It took me a while to nail this one, because I previously had a Sonicare electronic toothbrush that vibrated after the 2-minute, so I wasn't brushing my teeth as evenly.  With the Oral B toothbrush that vibrates after each minute, it has helped me brush my teeth very uniformly, and as a result, my gum bleeding has been consistent at under 10%.  I have only had one cavity so far, in 2015, and I really think the only "trick" to maintaining good teeth is to disrupt the plaque at least ONCE every 24 hours.  Literally all of my life, all I did was quickly brush with a normal toothbrush for 10 seconds, if that, and it was enough for me not to get any cavities until just days before turning 34.  All the extra stuff I do is just to maintain really good teeth, as white clean teeth and pink gums are both signs of youth.  My dental hygiene plan outlined above is highly recommended.  I've been somewhat lazy with my teeth through COVID, as my dentist was closed for months...but when I realized this BS was going to last forever, I started to get serious about my dental health again - and good dental practices, as with good nutritional practices, will make us healthier AND make us look better as a result.

[4] I think it's time for me to wear nice clothes, and maybe get a nice looking watch.  You can easily get a beautiful watch for $50, that no one is going to know is only a $50 watch unless they are experts on watch quality.  And for clothes, I don't mean wearing the nicest clothes, in terms of brand names - nothing like that - but to just buy 10 good solid pairs of pants, and 10-20 good solid shirts, and 1-2 good solid pairs of shoes, in addition to some Wal-Mart low-end clothes I already have, but to gradually shift to wearing more nice stuff.  I don't want to wear tight skinny jeans that make it impossible to pick up a coin if I drop it on the ground, but Chael Sonnen was hawking some pair of pants that look like sleek dress pants, but are actually athletic pants that allow a full range of motion.  I would have to go check his channel to see if he's still hawking that, and go buy a pair of those and see how they are.

[5] CARDIO!  Initially, I was not going to start doing cardio until age 40, but [1] that is in under 13 months, and [2] I think I owe it to myself to start cardio early...as I was lazy through the COVID lock-downs, partially not my fault, as gyms were closed for months and months, but partially my fault, as I was still lazy for a bit after the gyms reopened.  So it's time for me to get back on that train, stay on that train for the rest of my life, and add cardio to that train!  Health Canada recommends 25 minutes of elevated heart rate cardio per day, and I strongly believe they are right about that.  So I will do that every time, train with weights 3-5 times a week [hopefully hitting 4-5 on most weeks], and increase that cardio on certain days, depending on how I feel, how I am responding, and other factors.

[6] Limit drugs, alcohol, and smoking - I drank about 20 servings of alcohol this year, up from seven servings in 2019.  And I think I may well never drink alcohol again - ever.  I smoked 14 cigarettes this month...and I wanted to stop there, but...I think I'll have ONE more tomorrow or the next day [maybe two], and then quit completely in December.  The thing is, is - I actually ENJOY smoking.  Quite a bit actually.  And I don't even consider 3-4 cigarettes a WEEK to be an issue [basically, I smoke two cigarettes every fourth day].  I am NOT addicted to nicotine, and quitting a cigarette habit of this size won't be an issue.  That's not what concerns me.  What concerns me is becoming an actual addicted smoker.  I'm sort of in a limbo state - I am absolutely NOT addicted to cigarettes, but I just "allow" myself to have a couple, maybe twice on most weeks.  So two days of each week, I'll smoke two.  I should MAYBE stop doing this, but...I just don't know if smoking as little as I do is really a problem.  I literally average under half a cigarette a day.  But...I don't know.  I might just stop, but the good news is - it will be easy for me to stop because I am not addicted to nicotine.  I may never drink alcohol again, as said, and I am lucky that I don't have the constitution to really do any of these things.  I HATE to say this, but I can't use marijuana, because it causes me crippling, unbearable paranoia...it sucks.  Something so safe and so effective for so many people, and I literally can't tolerate it.  Oh well.  NOT that not being able to do drugs is a bad thing - I consider myself fortunate.  I just sort of wish I could benefit from marijuana the way others do.  CBD is ok...I can handle that.  I took 20mg, and even THAT was a bit much for me.  LMAO!!!  I think because my body was "reminded" of marijuana, and I had marijuana paranoia PTSD from it or something.

[7] Get adequate rest, limit stress, spend time with my friends, family/children, and good people - and get back together with my loving ex-girlfriend!  As Derek Anthony said about TA's tall dark-haired girlfriend: "She's fucking hot!  She's fucking sexy!"

[8] Anyone here, feel free to fill in the blanks for me.  This one, or any more.  I am happy to add anything to my life that will increase my health, my wellness, and hopefully also result in a reduction of the aging process for me.

[9] Limit Taco Time three_taco_combos.

I'm undecided on frequency of jerking off.  I understand that Getbiggers only date 11's...but I think there is quite a bit of support that shows that not jerking off often and saving up your load actually makes you stronger.  And it may be by something like 7%.  That being said, I assume that if this does happens [and understandably - as you go days and days without dropping a load, your body probably activates everything to be at its best so that you can get a woman, including physical strength which will attract them], that it probably maxes out at a certain percentage gained in strength.  So if that is the case, I could always just go 7-10 before competition without shooting a load.  If that will make me ~5% stronger in contest, awesome!  I'll take that.  :D

I'll start reading a post without seeing who posted it and notice it's a fucking essay and know immediately it's Matt. Every frigging post wtf is wrong with you?  You post like someone high on cocaine.

I type at an error-adjusted 120 WPM on a typing test - likely a little faster on the fly.  The post of mine you quoted was a little over 269 words, which means it only took me about two minutes to type.  I would think most people spend a minute for each post, but my posts become very long, very quickly.  :-X

I type for a few minutes, and it becomes a novella.

In October, I wrote 328,951 words.  At 300 words per page, that is 1,097 pages.  I literally wrote as many words in October as Stephen King wrote in his pre-COVID book about a global virus - THE STAND [King's longest book].  And King WAS on cocaine and Xanax [and alcohol/cigarettes] during...well...the 1980's!  Lol!

But what I have learned about long posts is that people can tolerate them PROVIDING that the content is relevant and appropriate, and - AND - [perhaps most importantly] don't hijack threads!  I had a bad tendency to do that.  I also tend not to start new threads, as I consider that a form of board hijacking.  I've improved on both of these.

But anyway, Chris - the main reason my posts are so long is simply because I type fast.  :-\  That's it.  I can spend the same amount of time typing as everyone else and have posts that are up to 3x longer.  I have made it a new year's resolution to type shorter posts, probably since 2017!  I will, unfortunately, almost definitely fail that new year's resolution in 2021.

On another board, someone said not to worry about it, but I decided that since my posts were SO LONG, that I would bold the important parts, and make it clear that people could just skip to the parts in bold and ignore the rest.  So far, so good.  :)

Regarding that small post you called an essay - thank you for that compliment [!], but I would suggest that you NOT scroll up and read my most recent post before this one, LOL.  I also URGE YOU to watch this clip from The Simpsons as a warning:

He is showing some recession nowadays. But for someone who blasted gear for decades he's doing better than most men his age at least. His hair seemed immune for years, but the Norwood Reaper doesn't care and can take your follicles at any time. Unless you're Ronald Reagan.
