    not really. I always thought I was kind of weak compared to most guys. my best bench ever was only 305 at 180 lbs. after I dislocated a shoulder I've only benched on machines since then. i did 270 lbs of weight on my powertec bench a couple of years ago. some little guy I knew did a  triple body weight dead lift  for 21 reps he  weighed 123 in bunny slippers and guy was in his 50's to boot. .

I subscribed to Fred Hatfields Dr Squats holistic training principle back in the day, you couldn't miss combining both heavy and light weights and reps still feel it would be the best base for anyone, but you need anabolic steroid type recovery to benefit from this type of training naturally your just killing your nervous system. IMO
