Smarter by not doing it, more recovery by having a lifetime between heavy workouts.  You won't be mobile if injured.

You won't be injured if mobile and train correctly.

This is a thread about a guy who just had shoulder surgery from lifting heavy.  Are you saying everyone lifting heavy that gets hurt simply because they aren't training correctly?  Heavy lifting creates injuries.

Why go back to lifting heavy at all?

Stop posting. You’re making too much sense.  I remember testing the arm with a 405 deadlift after about six months.  I went for my six month check up and the doctor was shaking his head hearing this.  He said I was going to ruin his repair.

I stopped deadlifting heavy after 35 and stopped lifting heavy period after 40.  It is tough for the ego but the body thanks you for it.

You can go ''heavy'' if you are natty, but if you are enhanced you shouldn't go lower than 10 reps, ever

I did not take your here post to be within the context of the OP and his injury, moreso a general, all encompassing statement.

This is why you don't lift heavy weights into old age.

I didn't say everyone who gets hurt gets hurt because of improper training.  Obviously injuries can happen, and the heavier you go, the likelihood increases.

However, it's also greatly reduced if you follow proper protocols, technique, and keep your body flexible.  I'd say the benefits outweigh the risks.  Some people want to continue to perform at high levels the older they get, and they can if they are smart about it.

What kind of rehab you doing?

Two days a week at physical therapy.

At home I do two hours a day in the Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) chair, and 1/2 hour stretching.

The physical therapy and/or stretching may be the cause of your discomfort.

Seriously, the therapists can mess you up with all that crap.

Work hard at physical therapy. There are a percentage of people that claim unsuccessful operations but in truth didn't work to regain function. When I was in rehab the physical therapists after the first session said I can tell you will recover quick because I was willing to put in the work. She said many come here expecting we will do the exercises for them.

True. Muscles and ligaments  that remain inactive will actually start binding to each other and prevent functionality. The frozen shoulder syndrome is a great example:

Pull ups is ok, I give it the ok, just keep the tension in the muscle, also only do body weight pull ups

On of the best things for shoulders is just hanging like your gonna do a pull up but don’t just hang there as long as you can this is in terms of rehab not bodybuilding

6 months and you prob won’t be comfortable sleeping on it for a year. Stay away from ibuprofen it delays the healing same with any kind of smoking including weed

Sure and after 12 weeks if u still can’t live your arm over head start using a broom handle to help do sets of 20 x3 to the side and front every day till u don’t need the broom handle
