Discussions about weed focus on the strength and nature of the intoxicating effects. By contrast, traditionally legal intoxicants, alcohol and tobacco, are discussed and priced according to qualities which make their consumption, rather than the effect of their consumption, enjoyable.
Is there any such thing as a weed connoisseur? Or is the plant just not something which lends itself to the development of flavors and aromas that people enjoy for their own sake?
Not trying to play epicurean snob here but I find it interesting that I've never seen tasting notes on weed. It's always just 'wasting notes.' So long as intoxication remains the principal concern of marijuana use, it will remain stigmatized. Is there any work being done on improving the smoking qualities or is potency the only concern?
