Jets Hitting Buildings
« on: February 17, 2021, 08:23:19 AM »
Im not a conspiracy theorist--AT ALL. But someone explain to me how a B52 hits the Empire State in 1945 and makes a hole (obviously) but nothing else, building still is fine. A passenger jet hits a tower and shit crumbles to the ground. I looked the B52 from that era and that thing is monstrous. This is actually the first time Ive ever said--well wtf happened?

Hmmm... I'll take a guess here

Optical illusion - there is no pu55y in that shot - it's just your mind making that call...

...Of course, that's only IF you're a dirty old b@stard like me - someone less degenerate just sees a couple of ladies innocently sat together...

So some people see what's there, and some see something that isn't

Was curious, here's a B-25 compared to a 747 in a round-about way -

B-25 -

.

B-25 compared to B-36 -

.

B-36 compared to 747 -

.

767 vs 747 -

.

One of the 2 planes was a 767 ER (Extended Range) model, so it had a good bit more fuel capacity.

My aviation history is rusty , but weren't "jet planes" more a Luftwaffe speciality in 1945 and certainly not to be found in passenger plane fleets of the 1940's?

edit: and the B-52 (as the name suggests) had its maiden flight in 1952

Crash Josh's pic references, interesting story. A real hose 'um off, and get back to work deal -

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1945_Empire_State_Building_B-25_crash .

A post from another board that gets into weights, speeds, etc.... -

"Empire state building was hit by a B-25 that was low on fuel and trying to find its airfield to land. At the time of the impact with the Empire State Building, it was probably going 200 MPH or less and had a few hundred gallons of fuel on board. The weight of the aircraft would have been in the vicinity of 15 tons, probably less since it was unarmed and low on fuel.

The 767s that hit the WTC towers weighed 150 tons and were traveling at around 500 MPH at the time of impact. They were estimated to be carrying 10,000 gallons of fuel.

Doing the math, you have a force of impact about 25 times as great for the 767 while the heat generated by the exploding jet fuel would be 30 times as great.

Also the construction of the buildings was quite different. The Empire State Building is supported in part by concrete columns while the WTC towers very controversially were not. While this made the WTC towers faster to build and had more useful space per floor, they also made them very vulnerable to fire as was demonstrated dramatically on 9/11/2001."

The World Trade Center twin towers were of a different design, unlike other tall building in the New York area such as...
The Empire State Building:

The Empire State Building's steel structure is made up of an array of cubes, like a three dimensional checkerboard.  Each cube shares the load with an adjoining cube (like a large crystal).  This results in the load bearing strength being distributed throughout the structure.  This makes the building much more resistant to localized trauma.  Also the beams are protected by fire brick.

The World Trade Center Twin Towers:

The developers wanted the interior spaces on each floor to be uninterrupted and clear of walls or vertical beams. (The "Open Plan"...)  This was achieved by moving the load bearing members...some to the central core, but mostly to the exterior skin...creating what is called a "Framed Tube"
This arrangement is far more susceptible to local trauma inflicting a greater percentage of damage to structural integrity than in the style of structure that is the Empire State Building.
(Think of a beverage can that has a dimple in it's side opposed to one that is perfectly smooth.)
Also the beams were protected with spray on insulation rather than fire brick.

What about building 7? ;D

That was the result of Larry Silverstein saying "Pull it" which led to a serious of small explosions, stemming from strategically placed explosives within the building which were progressively detonated, encouraging a collapse by weakening or removing critical supports. Explosives on the lower floors then initiate a controlled collapse and the building failed under its own weight, succumbing to gravity.  ;)

Very elegant visual explanation there - nice work Mega (as always)  8)

And the Lao Tzu quote encapsulates my teenage years quite nicely (pu55y pareidolia LOL  ;D)
