You have your opinion and I have mine so going back and forth is pointless. I will finish saying that I have no respect for athletes whatsoever and throwing a football to me is not an achievement. He makes so much fucking money I hope he’s the best cause he has nothing else to do.I’m sure there are many men given his chances and not having anything to do but play a child’s game could achieve the same.
I am impressed more by you never drinking or doing drugs than I am a rich person throwing a football that’s for damn sure. Wish I could say the same.
Also I know I’m one out of a billion who feels like I do.So I know my opinion on sports is not liked by many if any.I’m part jealous but also just think playing sports for that kind of money is just absolutely absurd and will never understand it.
By the time someone has reached the pro level, they have beaten out tens of thousands of others vying for that same position. Sports is one of the few real meritocracy systems where you have to earn your spot. Doesn't matter how rich you are, who your dad is, or what your race happens to be. You either perform or you're out. There are not many men that can do what he does. They are in fact very, very few. In fact, in his case -- just one.
You seem to not understand what makes something profitable. What brings in money and makes people and companies rich. You seem to think that in the case of sports, people are being tricked and are suckers for shelling out their hard-earned money to watch a guy throw a ball, run with a ball, get tackled with a ball. Just like many think companies are successful by exploiting the huddled masses.
A company, an organization, a person generates income, makes profits, by providing something that people want and they want it so much they are willing to pay for it. Whether it's watching Arnold flex his muscles or Brady throwing a football, it's an experience that enhances other people's lives. It's these experiences that make life worth living. It may not thrill you. I certainly don't get the appeal of golf but golf is one of the most popular sports in my States.
RBC, let me ask you a serious question. Is there anything in life that you enjoy? Anything that you will pay money for? You always seem so bitter and angry and more importantly resent others that are successful in life for being an athlete. Like they cheated or got lucky. You say Brady has "nothing else to do". Like he has a trivial meaningless life. Do you want to compare his life to yours? You don't think he could have become a teacher or a cop if he wanted to? Have you ever been involved in sports? How unforgiving and demanding it is. How at the top levels you have to go to places mentally and physically that most couldn't even imagine?
