Wearing a mask will prevent Covid spreading.

This statement is both true and false, depending on what you mean.

Covid is out there and spreading through the population no matter what.  Masks don't prevent that nor does social distancing.  Those measures are theater.  Look at CA v. Florida or Texas.  So it's false if you think prevent means it will have a substantial impact on the spread.

It's true if you think it means it will prevent some amount of Covid virus being spread from that one person wearing the mask.  Yes, it will sop up some.  But plenty is still getting out.

Not to invoke Howard, but most people wear underwear and pants (double masked), yet you can still smell their farts.

A mask is like a seatbelt or a condom

Neither of those is 100% effective but they are more effective than not using one

A mask it not 100% effective but it's certainly effective in lowering the spread

that's the bottom line

The spread of some droplets, not the spread of Covid.  That article from August 2020 says nothing about the spread of the virus in the population.  Pants and underwear prevent the spread of farts.

A lot of the roid monkeys dont train hard and dont do jack fng S to begin with.  Oh so damn - hard - sit on a machine and do a few sets of whatever w minutes rest in between.   Oh so brutal!!!

F that noise - bought a bunch of stuff, made a bunch of stuff out of pipes and metal, and train outside now.   Rain, snow, sleet, cold, dark, whatever.   Not wearing a mask like a little obama in the gym.  No way no how.  F that.

Good job

As it turns out, if you're not sick with a virus, you can't spread a virus to other people. Go figure.

As it turns out, it is just a little more complicated than that according to the CDC. People want absolutes. This virus has only been known and studied for a little over a year. There is no doubt a lot science still does not know about it. It is probably best to err on the side of caution...unless of course you just don't give a shit whether you spread it or not.

Asymptomatic spread is rare.   Live your life.  Let the other liberal cucks and losers cower in fear in their basements.

Rigged these jammies up from some old as fukk stuff around that I came across.   35lb and 90lb kettlebell just like that.  Old plates, a little chain, piece of pipe and look at that.

Can do farmer carries, up right rows, back rows, swings, all sorts of stuff.

Going into a gym and having to wear a face diaper is one of the most absurd things I can imagine.

Thank you Dr. Crusher for you good advises.  :)
Lucky me, can't cower in the basement because I don't have one. If I did, I'd have built a gym in it and I'd be working out there which is preferably to cowering any day.

I'm just showing a cheap alternative with minimal equipment. a 18 inch pipe is a small investment. he's already got the plates.

Weight is weight.   If one is creative , there are a million different exercises can do.

Indeed.

That's what I did with my water jugs, broom handles, and milk crates of old muscle magazines at this time last year (for three months), until 24-Hour Fitness reopened.

24-Hour Fitness is open in Oregon too. I am waiting for my second COVID shot next week before working out at the gym again. It is gonna be great though if I don't start out by overdoing it.  :)

They just opened there THIS YEAR?  ??? . Here in Orange County (FL), they've been reopened since June of last year. But, two of them (one actually in Kissimmee, which is in Osceola County) closed down permanently.

I take it you're not doing the reservation routine they did last year.

Well, some Oregonians like to play it safe....and....our Governor shut them down. The good news is, compared to our neighboring states, the COVID numbers here are much better, as in fewer cases and fewer deaths.

If I lived alone, I probably would not have been as cautious about exposure to COVID as I have been...not sure. I'm a fatalist and if it's my time. then it is my time. But I have some obligation to stay COVID free to protect the rest of my family who I am in close contact with on a daily basis.

It's not just gyms, but all businesses that are surprisingly hanging in there and likely scraping by with help from the federal government. Honestly, I don't know how more restaurants aren't going bankrupt. A place where I like to go to breakfast was always packed before COVID now with the rules about safe distancing and capacity limits the are probably making around 25% of the income they were before.

Floridians do, too. But, there comes a point where the "cure" is worse than the disease. Besides, we can proverbially walk and chew gum at the same time. Our governor issued guidelines but he let the mayors do their things for their cities/counties, provided they didn't turn into DeBlasios or Lightfoots.

To my pleasant SURPRISE, the mayor of Orange County (a liberal, whose wife is a former sheriff and one of the most left-winged congresswomen walking this planet) actually took a balanced and sensible approach to this matter.....for the most part.

The restaurants here are allowed to be opened at at least 50% capacity, unless you have a sob story as to why it should be less.

As I said earlier, our gyms were only closed for three months. Upon reopening, we had to use the 24-Hour Fitness app to make a one-hour reservation and check into the club without the fingerprint thing. The 30-minute close time for cleaning really only lasted 5-15 minutes and (at least where I train) they let you back inside to keep training until the next group arrives.

That all ended in September. I'd say it's about 80%-85% back to normal. The kids' club is still closed and the mask police don't bother you anymore once you checked into the gym and (in my case) go upstairs where the weights are.

Ignore the 500000+ dead and the dead members of family's and friends? Is that what you are saying? Just trying to get an understanding of your comment. Just lost an Austin Police officer to Covid and trying to figure out the scam part of your post
