No. When someone steals shit, they get arrested. If you want to call a social worker or a psychologist afterwards, fine. But steal, get arrested. Same rules for everyone.
No. You’re trying to simplify the event until any discussion is meaningless. It’s a very obvious and very dishonest way of debating what happened.
She wasn’t just arrested though was she, she got a pasting over nothing whatsoever. A vulnerable person should be treated in a different way than a person in ful control of their faculties if they are not an immediate threat to people’s safety. This lady in question walks out of a store without paying for something, gets challenged by store employees as she’s leaving, apologises and offers to pay, the store employees refuse and call the police, they then apprehend her and give her a good hiding.
So let me ask you, what good has come from this, your one size fits all treatment of anyone suspected of committing a crime, no matter how small?
The store employees look like girls, a 73 year old woman with dementia got the shit kicked out her, the cops might lose their jobs and the police department has a law suit filed against it for the incident. All this over 13 dollars worth of tat from fucking Walmart.
But we don't have the same rules for everyone. There are different rules for people from different groups. The more disadvantaged you are, the less the rules apply. This is where we have come to as a society here on Earth, during your apparent Mars Mission.
Have you been drinking?
