You can train back & legs together no problem.The reason why you don't train them usally together is because it is to much volume.You train 1 big and 1 small muscle group together.Why? Because 2 big muscle groups in the same workout is simply to much..For a big muscle group i use at least 20 Sets a 10-20reps.For a small muscle group is use 10 Sets a 10-20reps.= 400reps+200reps=600repsMore is to much for your central nervous-system..if you push you're body to far you gain nothing..= overtrainingSo it is better to split it. Split it as much as you can..
