As I have said, Phil was my friend and I trained with him a good bit when he moved to Boyton Beach after merging his peptide company with another buddy.  We lost touch a bit when he met a new love/gf and moved to Tampa and Atlanta.  Caught up again a few times when he moved back to FL.   Very humble and down to Earth in person.  Had a short temper on the internet though.  A lot of what he preached was basic common sense in the training field.  Except people just were not ready to understand that it (training) was relatively simple and that the other two aspects (diet and recovery) were much  more difficult.  So instead of putting more energy into those areas, they instead fooled themselves into believing they needed to train even harder or longer or more frequently.  Or use more drugs.  Which eventually only held them back even more.

As his later training progressed more into kettle bells, bands, and the bosu ball, he still kept a decent physique on just legit TRT alone.

Diet wise, he was pretty smart, but again it was just common sense.  (Plus he had to make money selling supps too).

Very saddening to watch his health slowly deteriorate over time.  All the problems with his knees, quads, kidneys, eyes, etc...  I can say that if 99% of the people on this board met him in person, he would not be close to being the person they thought he was.

I thought that was Prince that won and Titus had a meltdown.

He seemed like a decent guy from the videos he was releasing in his last years.

Weird but decent.

Normal doesn't cut it by today's standards.  Really, it's all kind of boring but people are more interested in exotic techniques where you twist your elbows counter clockwise during a full moon when Mercury is in retrograde and train exactly between 7:02pm and 8:14pm.

Did he actually use Leo Costa's Titan Training program that he did videos for and endorsed?

I think you’re underselling it…Phil’s training methods were and are unlike anything else I’ve ever seen.  He didn’t push for any weird techniques like Charles Glass but I still marvel at the elegant simplicity of the programming he sent me

His training was high frequency, basic lifts to positive failure.

I have no idea what (or even who) Leo Costa is or his training program was like.  So I can't say.   Can you link it and I can compare?

But Phil's was just so simple and straight forward.  It was really common sense.  I posted it on here word for word of the entire email he sent out.  Including what basic supps to take and diet to follow.

That's the point.  It was so simple that people can't believe it or just want to believe there is something else to it that isn't being shared.

Leo Costa wrote Bulgarian Powerburst Training, Big Beyond Belief and Titan Training System back in the 90's. Phil was in a video that came with the system and claimed he claimed that way as a pro.

that site has it's pages locked it seems.  I can't view them.

But the training and diet that phil sold online is listed word for word on this thread :

http://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=674217.0

Since you are familiar with the other Titan system you can look and compare?  But until Phil moved away from the weights and into bands and the bosu ball, he still followed that training program he sold.  Now there were times we would just volume train for the pump, but that wasn't a change up or because it was better, but simply because we were having a great time in the gym talking shit with each other and laughing about things.

No, they look different. Titan Training was mostly forced reps needing a training partner.

FYI, here is the scribd downloader so you can open any document on scribd.

If anything, these stuff made you think, tbh it was just all crazy ideas from Leo Costa and Tom Platz, the best gains i ever had was on serious growth, a particular routine that had me train twice a day, I believe 6 days a week, but I was a teenager back then, I believe 16 yrs old, idk if an adult could handle all that work, it would be over training

I just cut the volume in half. Still a lot of volume over the course of a week.

At the end of the day, all that matters is progressive overload, idc if it's from high volume or high intensity, without progressive overload there's no muscle growth

Lol, the irony is Paul Dillet was very strong, I have seen pics of him curling 225 lbs
