What? The guy was huge!

Actually, he wasn't that huge.  In clothes he looked like a fitness competitor.  If you hadn't seen old photos of him you would never think he could have reached the size he did.

Please show the pics of his juiced to the gills use.  He was an IFBB pro in the 90s and probably used as much as anyone else then.  He hadn't competed or trained for competition in over 20 years and his AAS use was much less.

But I will wait to see your pics and judge for myself.

Regardless of what he used it's pretty much a given that his kidney issues had to do with the bodybuilding lifestyle. The kidneys do not usually go real early if you use very modest amounts.

I remember when Phil said he ate only hydrolyzed collagen for protein on the prep where he got his pro card. I don't think so, a real shit protein that's incomplete. You didn't know when he was serious.

It is hard not to notice the sharp contrast between reactions to the passing of John Meadows and Phil.   John’s passing generated an huge outpouring of well wishes and condolences.  He was widely respected and people were grateful for the knowledge he shared.  Almost no one had anything negative to say about their dealings with him… despite the fact his physique was not one many people publicly admired and he never won any of the big shows.  He was well known to be invested in his role as a father and hubby. The gofundme memorial account created after his death generated $250,461.

Phil had a freaky physique for about 15 minutes and won his share trophies… but the warm wishes were few and far between and lots of negative reflections have been shared.  Virtually no comments on his family status; no gofundme memorial fund.  :-\

I noticed dante and the permabulker crew seem to be prissy bitches about philip.

But Dorian didn’t care about being big afterwards. The guys that had issues or died like Nasser kept the weight on.

But Phil must’ve had kidney issues to begin with. He was a lean physique after competing with not too much on his frame that would make you think it would do him harm.

I don’t know, I think we are beginning to see the bodybuilding longevity issue at play now. My friend just died a few weeks ago of a heart attack. Both of us competed for years.

Dorian has to be walking around at 210-220, he looks pretty big.  Same with Phil.  Carrying that much size is hard for the body, no matter if it's fat or muscle

Lol. I didn't know if he was trolling or serious about the LBAs and humanofort stuff.

I've got a lot of love for phil. I'd say he was the biggest lifting influence on me. Frequency is very important when you're clean.

that's a weird video
what's with the hand-holding before the squats

I wish that dude calling him Phillip and constantly talking in the background would STFU

Also interesting that he's doing standing DB press when the workout posted on this thread said they only did laterals for delts

His arms are gone.  But seems to hold weight in legs.

Maybe him going the hippie route will or has saved his life.

I noticed one of his calves is gone as well.

He posted about the video years ago.  He said those videos were a paid job.  Not his actual workouts.

That’s probably around 2012-2016.

His calf might be nerve issue.

He works out like once a week and mostly does outdoor stuff like cycling and hiking.

He may have advocated lower doses for people he was training but he was juiced to the gills.

Sorry I don’t really pay attention to the goings-on of retired bodybuilders.  Good thing we have people people like you that do

I don't think he died young for a bodybuilder.  Dallas McCarver died young, Phil died around the time when lifelong bodybuilders tend to go.

I am curious to see how Dorian Yates will fare, since he was one of the first to push the envelope.  Haven't heard much in the way of health issues from him yet--aside from getting beat up at an expo  :D

he always seems happy and looks healthy on instagram
