went through a warm up with assisted pullups and dips with a resistance band

Front delt still not 100% just got some blood through the area

Looking at more calisthenics as a way forward, dont even like lifting weights anymore

I was just thinking the other day that I have been at that gym now for around three years and I cant remember ever picking up a set of dumbbells

Maybe I will get myself a chinning bar/dip station for home and some equipment

Calisthenics in the park is best for a man of your age have you considered Thai Chi or water aerobics?

They reattached a tendon not a cosmetic procedure. Doing well have therapy today at 2pm. Coming up on 10 weeks tomorrow. 2 more weeks until resistance training official with therapist although I started some band work on my own.

I agree with that actually.....when you drop it you miss out on the negative....not being to critical cuz I probably couldn`t even roll it on the floor at this stage.  ;D

I did "top-down" (nh) deadlifts for a while, where you unrack it, then lower it, then lift it off the ground and re-rack it.  But I could do more weight this way so it felt like cheating.

You'll never lift that trap bar or otherwise. Also did you see how fast the bar moved? He could add a lot on to it without much trouble.

No Hulk, that is actually a great way to increase power as you can always lower more weight as opposed to (raising) lifting it......but I do see your point.

Back in the day guys would lower into a heavier squat than he could legit perform, and have two partners on both sides to raise it for them,and lots of powerlifters did partials reps in a power rack where their sticking point was in order to get past said sticking point.

But anyway, everyone knows that SC does low handled trap bar at this point, and knows what he means by deadlift.

It's a decent lift but it is not a 500lb deadlift much less 525 it is a trap bar lift which we all know is easier. You guys would not accept me claiming a 525 deadlift and posting a 525 trap lift. Lets not lower our standards for SC. Krank has shown legit deadlifts. Matt has shown legit deadlifts. I have shown legit deadlifts. Even Hulkatron has shown a deadlift. SC can do the same or call it what it is a trap bar lift.

I did a similar thing a couple years ago that helped me on heavy squats, I'd take a weight that I knew was too heavy for me, lower it to rock bottom (nh) then just bail out.  Got me over that mental hurdle of "What happens if I fail on this?"

I hear ya`....it`s also good to walk a heavier weight out of the rack and just hold it as if you were going to squat it,just to get accustomed to the heavier stuff.....nothing stupidly heavy though, as you don`t want to risk a back injury due to having to walk in and out with the weight.
