He ignored me too when I suggested wraps. Maybe because you can buy elastic wraps at any pharmacy or sports outlet...brick and mortar or online. https://www.amazon.com/DMoose-Fitness-Knee-Wraps-Powerlifting/dp/B075LM35H7/ref=asc_df_B075LM35H7/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=216953350784&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12183570108153887916&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9032878&hvtargid=pla-380602167278&psc=1
He`ll end up sending back the dumb ass slieeves and getting wraps anyway....I just wonder why he thinks he`s a know it all when he literally knows jackshit.

What kind of weird gym doesn't have squat racks with standard 45-lb barbells ???

A good gym will have an actual squat bar they are heavier and longer and thicker so as not to bend also 55-65lbs with full bezzling to provide more grip on the back

Once trained and the mechanical motion and fiber recruitment and CNS adaption has been achieved you really are not going to get any stronger without getting bigger also yes absolutely as you get bigger you get stronger. You can argue how strong a little guy is but take that liottle guy who is strong at an exercvise he has adapted to and let him add 20lbs of bodyweight and he is absolutely going to be even stronger at it. Also you can argue a big guy doesnt lift much but let him get bigger and he will lift more. Size and strength are absolutely positively correlated. Training low reps will make you better at low reps as you will learn to recruit everything but once you have recruited everything you need to add muscle to get any stronger. Once technique is mastered more size is the only real way to get stronger. You want to get strong get big

I doubt if there`s any danger of you bending a bar while squatting.  LOL  ;D

You have read too many Flex magazines.....do you still believe the body can process no more than 30 gms. of protien in one sitting or in the anabolic window which was designed to simply sell more protein powder.....Arnold never heard about it and he was incredible.

As I`ve told you repeatedly there are 148 pound powerlifters dedkifting over 600 pounds and have been for decades.....they aren`t big by any means.

JUST LIFT AND LIFT HARD !!!

I don't use any powders. Again someone who is 100lbs deadlifting 1000lbs would still not change my accurate argument. Size and strength are correlated as your muscles get larger you get stronger stop overthinking the obvious.

If I recall correctly at 405lbs a 45lb bar will begin to bend. Although I am already thinking using the calculator to estimate my max is smarter. But I will be using 315 for reps soon enough. So far so good Knock on wood

how many reps will you do with 315? Are you doing back squats or zercher squats?

You should use the BMI calculator, its really good.

It might bend but not with the weight you`ll be using.....GEEZUS!!

I`ve seen 735 on a bar and it didn`t bend.....also saw a 650 bench for a triple and it didn`t bend either.

This website suggests 8-9 reps of 315 for a 405 max:

Seems generous to me.

They are one in the same

There are a number of folks much more experienced than you are who maintain they are different.

https://www.muscleandfitness.com/workouts/workout-tips/bodybuilding-vs-weightlifting-go-heavy/

By Arnold Schwarzenegger

"One thing many bodybuilders don’t realize is that success in the gym is all about weight training rather than weightlifting. That is, the goal is not to see how much weight you can lift, but to use resistance training to develop, shape and sculpt the various muscles of the body. When you do this kind of training you also get stronger, but that’s not the primary goal."

https://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/kosloff8.htm

Ron Kosloff
April 23, 2019

"A bodybuilder sculpts to have every muscle stand out and a weightlifter endeavours to have a large ego as well as large muscles. Which category do you want to fit into?"

https://www.powerdot.com/blogs/training/powerlifting-vs-bodybuilding

"Powerlifting training aims to increase maximal strength, especially in movements such as the squat, bench press, and deadlift.  Bodybuilding training is less concerned with how much weight is lifted but aims to maximize muscle hypertrophy (growth) as much as possible."

https://www.verywellfit.com/bodybuilding-powerlifting-and-weightlifting-3498670

By Paul Rogers
Updated on December 16, 2020
Medically reviewed by Erin Pereira, PT, DPT

"Bodybuilders use a wider range of exercises, including free and machine weights than any other discipline because they need to develop even smaller muscles to enhance body features. It’s fair to say that bodybuilders concentrate more on muscle size and body features than on actual strength."

"Powerlifters compete in competitions to see who can lift the heaviest weights in only three exercises:

The bench press — pushing a barbell upward while lying on a bench.
The deadlift — lifting a barbell from the floor.
The squat — squatting down, with thighs parallel to the ground with a barbell on the shoulders."

https://thedietauthority.com/strength-training-vs-bodybuilding/

"Even though to the naked eye, it might seem like both are relatively the same, they are incredibly different. Also, although both require a lot of discipline, motivation, and time, bodybuilding is a whole other arena that you will have to dedicate your life to.

The main difference between bodybuilding and strength training is that one is for solely increasing the size of your muscles. The other is meant to improve your overall strength and won’t show as much bulk. With bodybuilding, it’s all about the size of your body, while strength training focuses primarily on making you stronger."
