Full range of motion for many exercises is overrated and can even increase the chances of injury IMO.

Too tired after squats and dont like the hamstring curl machine at new gym anyway so want to activate them by going low. The goal here is bigger legs I am squatting like an olympic lifter not a powerlifter feet shoulder width ass down. Yes if I attempt a one rep max I imagine I will use less raneg of motion but right now I like the feeling of the pausing and stretching at the bottom

Not all squats are created the same some of these powerlfiting squats while legal qualifiers in powerlifting are garbage

Hamstrings are most activated in the upper part of a squat, not the bottom.

I absolutely can do it right now I have not attempted a max lift but based on my first actual workout with sleeves I would say yeah I can squat 405lbs. I can also bench press a lot that doesn't mean I am going to do a one rep max bench press today while recovering from my 3rd pectorial tear. I want to make sure my knee doesnt fill up with fluid afterwards so far so good but if I push too hard I will wind up with fluid I am testing now and passing so far I will add a signifgant amount of weight or reps and sets again next week. I am actually surprised how good the 275 for deep reps felt my form did not falter yet.

275 is far from 405....you`d get fucking crushed and will more than likely injure yourelf long before you get to use a weight over 300 pounds....good luck though you fucking stupid ass.

I have also seen arguments that pausing or hanging out in the max compressive forces zone increases time under tension it also just feel nice to stop and think about life take in the moment then rise. I used to squat with ego in college so no pausing as was going too heavy. The pause feels great lighten the weight go deeper and pause thank me later

Thanks it doesn't seem possible logically when I think about it. No one grows their legs at my age especially no one with my issues. And doing somewhat heavy squats insane. I could barely walk 2 years ago I was on a cane with complete atrophy and a ton of fluid in both knees when my son was born in August 2019. The doctor recommended shaving down the bone to even out the bone degeneration in the fall of 2019. I am past soft tissue damage I have actual bone loss in the knees. They said I had stage 4 arthritis in all 4 quadrants in both knees as well as a 2 cm tear in the meniscus and a bakers cyst. I started doing like 1/2 mile walks with a stroller to lean on in Jan 2020. Then the beach in spring of 2020 and here I am now. Everyone wants to be judgemental and talk about what supplements they think I have done. I would have injected bull semen into my eyeballs just to walk right again in 2019. The orthopedic surgeon who has a wing at UVA named after him would have told you what I have done is not possible. I told you all though I do the impossible everyday. By all modern mainstream medical accounts I should not be walking and I am squatting plates with very little inflammation so far my meniscus tore doing a bodyweight sissy squat in the summer of 2019 because I didn't have enough strength to stabilize it. I squatted 275 for deep reps Friday I am still on a high from it I can barely believe it myself

Given this, trying to add bodyweight makes zero sense.

I am going to be true to myself yes I was told by the same Dr when I weighed 195lbs in the fall of 2019 to lose weight which would put less stress on knees. You know what I did instead? I put decades of knowledge into practice and wrapped it in a nutrient coccoon of muscle and now I don't have fluid in it. They used to pull 100cc out of each knee every couple months. Now I dont have inflammation. I did a rehab that can't be done. I have been doing and dealing with this for 2 decades and its amazing where I am at right now. I thought it was over. I didn't believe I was getting off the cane this time much less ever squatting again. But when my son was born something changed and I did it again.

Just spare yourself the misery and admit you won't ever be able to squat 405. Done.

Blah blah

You were never injured and are just making up shit.

I squatted 405 in a wheelchair. That’s on the same level as your claims and bs stories.

Brian,

I’m sure CPS has already asked your son this.

But I am concerned for his safety can you please ask him the following and report back?

Does any place on your body hurt?
What happens when you do something your parents don’t like?
What happens at your house (or daycare) when people get angry?
Do people ever hit?  Who do they hit?  What do they hit with? How often does it happen? Is it scary?
Are you afraid of anyone?

haha- you have a sense of humor, I'll give you that.

I will make a suggestion, based on my personal experience with squats before I stopped doing them and stuck with cycling: higher reps. The quads are loaded with slow twitch fibers and they respond very well to lactate overload. Forget the poundage and go for the burning feeling. They will grow like weeds. I have seen this over and over.

One of my closest cycling friends had monster quads and I know exactly how he got them: rep after rep of leg extensions. He was crazy about them. He never squatted once. He used to go to Bally's fitness in Syracuse, NY and did 10+ sets of leg extensions for 20 reps. He did this 2-3 times a week. Legs got enormous. He told me he hated low reps and never did less than 15. He just liked sitting on the leg extension machine watching the girls and TV at the gym, hahaha.

There is very little chance I've had COVID. Besides taking the precaution of getting vaccinated, I wear a mask wherever it is required and I've avoided crowded places. If that makes me a sheep, so be it.

I am not ashamed of my choices. Mock me all you want. I don't give a shit what you say. If I followed the (Chaos) COVID denier example, that would make me an even bigger sheep IMO.
So? I know people that were mask addicts, wouldn't go anywhere unnecessary, wore gloves, sanitized their hands constantly,  2 of them ended up hospitalized with covid. Both of them shot up with experimental drugs that the government told them would protect them.
Can you show me where I've denied covid exists or are you leaking bullshit from your old ass again?

Drinking early today ???

I get it lots of haters but the squatting went too well to be bothered. It was literally my first real squat workout Friday. And I am still in shock how good it felt. I could probably have gotten about 10 reps with the 275 if I had pushed it. That would be 366 according to the one rep max calculator and it was end of workout and way lower than a legal competition squat. I did not strain. Also again just testing knee was literally first session with sleeves and a proper pad. I am waiting to see if it blows up with fluid now. If not the weight and sets and reps will go up exponentially. Y'all talking about 405 the goal is always to surpass former limits not get close. I will be repping 3 plates in 2 weeks. Where will I be in 6 months if I continue to squat injury free that gets me excited. 405 is a floor a starting point not a ceiling
