Some people just enjoy it as a daily activity to stay active, mobile, and going somewhere other than work and home.  There is a social component as well that many get a benefit from.

Ah yes some days training is more about mental health than physical

Human beings are social creatures.  We need those outlets and meeting places.   For people like us, the gym satisfies that need in a world where those places are less and less. 

For myself personally, at 4 am there are the same people and we have a good camaraderie.  We all know it sucks to be up so early and there grinding it out.  But there is a mutual respect there even if you barely know the person since you know inside what it took for you yourself to get there and know that other person likely has the same daily grind.

We all are just trying to improve ourselves, give each other our space to do our thing we believe will help us, etc.  That to me is a benefit of why I go at that time aside from the purely physical seeing others in the same pursuit daily in a world that seems full of lazy Fat F who think a 5 minute walk is too much.  Its good being amongst like minded people for an hour or two when the rest of your day seems the opposite.   

So aside from purely physical, that is a reason I go daily.  Just .02.

So you are doing dumbell snatches and dumbell clean and presses? Aren't those the same kind of thing? Snatch is floor to overhead and clean and press is floor to shoulder to overhead?

Either with a DB or BB, Snatches can be done from the floor or from mid-thigh. Mid-Thigh would be known as a “Hang Snatch”

My goal is to be as well rounded as possible.  DB snatch and DB clean and press add a lot to that formula.  Its a whole body exercise with emphasis on power , stability, and explosion.   Just a tool in the tool box amongst many others.

2x 20 - Leg Extension

4x12-15 Leg Press

4 x 12 - Smith Machine squats

4 x 10 - Hack Squat paired w/

3 x 15 - Leg Extension (yes, again)

3 x 12 - Standing Leg Curl paired w/

3 x 12 - Lying Leg Curl

Oh I get it. Great movements. I can’t do anything that’s a BB O-lift so yes, I will do DB snatches as well. I was just explaining to BHanks what a hang snatch was

every day it is for me, both equal.
I get just as much out of it mentally. training is fun, its a passion.
I force myself to have a day off (SUN). Some say I dont rest enough.
When you sit all day for work, and sleep 10 hours a night, and you structure your training properly, I get more than enough rest.

today was legs and some misc:

Squats (after lots of warmups):

315 x 5
315 x 5
405 x 3
405 x 3

leg curl / leg ext super-set

4 sets

standing calves

4 sets

reverse-hypers

4 sets

20-mins on treadmill (slow "jog" on 4.0)
Seated dip-machine - 4 sets

Chest  + Abs:
Dumbell Inclines - 5 X 8 -18 -12
Dumbell Flyes - {warmup  30 reps } then 5 X 8 -12
Elevated Push Ups - 2 X failure which wasn`t that many after doing inclines and flyes.....I trained with very little rest between sets and went a bit heavier than I have thus far since I started my comeback to training.
Crunches - 5 X failure

So you are dumbell snatching one dumbell at a time 100lbs from floor to overhead? I mean that is some weight to be slinging. It doesn't even look stable when I youtube it like a shoulder injury just waiting to happen. I mean I feel like yeah I could do one but 10 reps of 10 if your form is bad and you are tired there goes the shoulder? And it's like a half deadlift half curl half press. I mean I get it power development but I like stability on my joints. S

I would not recommend you trying like you described.  More of an explosive high pull, followed by a dip (1/4 squat) as you pull yourself under the dumbell you then extend the arm toward the ceiling.  This actually can help BUILD stability in the joint.  Try doing some walks with an inverted kettlebell (bell side up).  That FORCES you to stabilize the weight both from the shoulder as well as midline.
