If you did that workout you`d either die or be crippled for a week.
I`ve done thousands upon thoudsands of reps on squats over the decades......high reps will build quads.....I learned this cuz I always squatted heavy and never grew.
How many reps did you get in the workout.....total reps on squats that were paralell or below?
My guess would be just a few and your lower back did most of the work.....I`ve seen your "form" if you want to call it that.
My workout is far superior as far as TUT and intensity goes....a few reps on squats and the set is done......my higher rep sets were agonizing.
Try that workout if you have the balls and oh yeah,not everyone responds well to squats.....don`t believe the old adage that it is the king of exercises......it will be for some but not for others......they won`t help you just like they never did much for me except make me a better squatter.

You`re nowhere near my level and I`ll prove this in Pittsburgh.
