Back when I was powerlifting and going for a max rep squat I would first do free hand squats with no weight,then 135 -15 or so,then 225 for 8....then perhaps a triple, maybe not, with a heavier weight,then all singles until I hit my max...................wh
en I did 405 at 160 pounds,I did a lot of sets first like our idol here did....if I stuck to powerlifting I would have done much more......just felt "on" that day and went for the 405 since I had never tried it before.
