We can't just shut everything down to prevent X number of octogenarians from getting a flu. That damages our economy, which prevents us from serving health care to everyone.

Also, cancelling cancer screenings hurts people - and in itself costs lives.

It's all a trade-off, basically. Spending a trillion dollars on a flu was beyond idiotic though.

2022: 11,330.

The Thunder Bay Regional hospital has 22 ICU beds - as I said, 27 beds were full during the pandemic peak.

That hospital was built in 2003, and the ICU was full on over 50% of all years from 2003 to 2019.

Meaning = all 22 beds were used.

During the pandemic, 27 beds were used.

That's barely any difference.

Furthermore - why did six provinces reduce ICU capacity during the pandemic, despite Canada spending $1,000,000,000,000 on this allegedly lethal pandemic?

Canadian Covid Deaths [divide these numbers by 10-20 to get the number of deaths from being who weren't already dying from cancer or other diseases - normally, multiple diseases]:

2020: 15,569.

So not only did only 5-10% of those people die directly of Covid, but the average age of a Canadian death is *79* [and 84 in the USA].

And we crushed the global economy over this? 

Canada spent literally a trillion dollars on this - and reduced ICU capacity in six provinces, to make it LOOK like the empty Canadian hospitals were overwhelmed.

What an absolute fraud.

And yes, OAK - we will have more 80-year-olds with cancer dying WITH Covid now that mandates have been dropped.

Would you prefer us to stay in permanent lockdown so that octogenarians live an extra 18 months?

How about all the people who postponed cancer screenings, and the others who didn't go to the ER, and died at home of heart attacks and strokes because they were scared to catch Covid at hospitals? How about the fact that 10x as many Canadians aged 20-49 died of increased drug overdoses caused by lockdowns than of Covid during the pandemic? Is that ok with you?

How many lives could have been saved if we spent that TRILLION DOLLARS on other healthcare services?

Do you care about any of that? Or are you only worried about 99.9% survivable flus?

This is the closest data I had saved from last year. This is a comparison of the number of deaths from 2021 up until June 25th, compared to this year so far, up until yesterday [June 17th]:

2021 deaths, up to June 25th: 10,548
2022 deaths, up to June 17th, 2022: 11,684

 

So basically, we have just 10% more deaths, but without locking everyone down, and spending a BILLION DOLLARS A DAY with the economy-crippling mandates.

Good thing we went into more debt during the pandemic than in the ENTIRE HISTORY OF CANADA before that. 

It was sure worth it!
