Great movie.  Using isolation as a factor into the terror (in the Artic, stuck in a ski lodge, cruise ship, middle of nowhere, etc...) is awesome if done right.

Absolutely, plus the way he ratcheted the tension up as the crew got smaller and smaller - really glad I watched it

This one still works after more than 4 decades, that's how you recognize a true masterpiece. Was like 15-20 years ahead of it's time.

The remake/prequel from like 10 years ago was actually pretty decent as well.

Still holds up for me - 100% - the practical effects were stomach-churning.  I was thinking afterwards that's almost certainly the first time I watched it on a big HD screen, so I experienced it in that 'cinematic' way for the first time too...

Should I watch the new one then?  I'm not a big fan of CGI (if that's the way they went)

Forgotten that classic myself.

It's one of those where I couldn't take my eyes off from start to finish - if you haven't seen it for a while I highly recommend it

Also caught 'Event Horizon' again - not sure why, but it's another that hooks me in if I catch the first few minutes, even if the premise is a bit cheesy...

(Funny how much smoking used to take place on spaceships in the past/future!  ;D)

There are def a lotta CGI effects, but pretty decent ones as far as I remember.

It was def one of the best Horror-franchise-revivals from the 2010s (a lot of em were awful)

Re watched the invisible man yesturday,  leigh Whannel is a great director, he also did upgrade. Small budgets, but look great, tight and effective scenes.
He should have been given the later terminator films  the guy has vision.
Also re-watched brightburn, really enjoyed that,  evil kid superman.

The substance, with Demi Moore.
Started great, decent concept, but gradually went full retard. If you guys like horror from the 80's you are going to enjoy.

Many nudes with 60yo Demi Moore and her:

Is it worth a watch or does the end ruin the whole thing? Just what I've heard...

Too much gore for my taste. Yes the last part of the movie is a complete turn around of the rest of the movie, like they changed directors or something. Special effects are great though, very realistic, doesn't seem like CGI.

Too much gore again?
I was really looking forward to the substance after having no expectations but I hate when the ending muffs everything up.

I loved Terrifier 1 and 2.

Terrifier 2 definitely has a story line and will likely be expanded on in 3 and 4. Related to siennas father etc.

Art The Clown is definitely my favorite villain. Already purchased tickets for 3.

Yes, 2 had a lot gore! It was great!

I've tried twice to watch that, but just never got into it enough to finish it.  Maybe I should just read the Wiki entry and call it quits.  LOL

I just saw Terrifier 1 the other week.  It was..... something.

There is also a Smile 2 coming out as well.  I saw the preview for it last month when watching Aliens : Romulus.

Late night with the Devil

Not bad. Not scary but if you like retro horror then it's worth a look, reminds me a bit of 1992's Ghostwatch by the BBC which this flick obviously borrowed elements from.

This movie is a master class when it comes to creating a highly disturbing, emotionally taxing flick with basically no means - just a bunch of "actors" willing to go over the edge

Just watched "Meet Joe Black" again

Great movie, ending a bit fucked up
She "liked" the coffee shop Brad
She fell in love with "Death", it would never have worked with nerdy Brad

Oh, and she went back to the party leaving her dad dead in a ditch.

Have you watched it? Rumor has it they really killed the girl in the end for that movie. They were definitely not using any props or CGI for that one and when he cuts off her nipples, it looks so f*ing real, I wonder how they did that... :o

(everything else in that movie is def real without any Special FX anyway :-\)

No fucking way am I clicking an affeman movie link. It's probably a home video of him eating cat shit out of the litter tray while his big Kraut mum fists him.
