Hispanics are going over to the GOP - Tired of the White Liberal Nonsense

With the GOP continuing to pump money into South Texas and more Hispanic Republicans, particularly women, running for office, there are signs the traditional balance of power in the longtime Democratic stronghold is beginning to shift.

“We want to show Hispanics that this is what the Republican Party looks like. It looks just like them,” said Mayra Flores, who won the GOP nomination for her South Texas-based congressional seat. “We were raised to think that the Republican Party was for the rich and only white men and that’s not true. Look at us. We are the face of the party.”





Good about damn time.  They work their FNG asses off in this country and dont want to live in liberal hell any more than any of the rest of us.

Growing up in SE Texas and now living in NM, i know a ton of Hispanic people. Plus, i've lived in Venezuela for 2 years. Spent a lot of time in Peru, Columbia, Mexico and Costa Rica. The majority of them seem to be more conservative, at least from a values perspective. Most don't want free stuff, they just want a living wage and ability to earn an honest living. Instead of being forced into poverty by insane taxes and terrible wage gaps.

My GF is from Mexico and still has a lot of family there. Most of them are Dems, but it's because the "conservative" parties in Mexico are very corrupt and have done a lot of stupid things. But the "conservative" parties in Mexico are not like they are in the US. It's all completely different and most politicians cross party lines every election just to try and stay in power, it's a mess. Also, many Mexicans hate Trump and have a bad feeling towards Reps these days. I was surprised to see "Fuck Trump" flags and graffiti all over Mexico City, Chihuahua City and Guadalajara when i was there in 2018-2020. It was very weird to see this.

A lot of this is driven by where they came from and what system of government made them leave their Country. I worked with two guys from Venezuela, and they were hard core Reps. Used to tell me about how the Dems remind them more of their own government back home.

"Fresh off the boat" Hispanics many times lean to the left, but it seems after they have been here a while they lean to the right.
