That seems like an odd arrangement for a house. Was it converted from 2 houses to 1 house or some other structure?

That's good you asked - I should clarify:

One of the rooms was a walk-in closet that was big enough to fit a bed.

It has no window, so it couldn't be classified as a "bedroom"...but it was definitely big enough to comfortably fit a bed in it.

Otherwise it was a master bedroom upstairs and two normal sized bedrooms [normal setup]. The main floor was a kitchen, dining room, and living room. And the downstairs was two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a computer lab. Each floor had its own bathroom, and there was a sauna in the basement, and hot tub on the back deck.

And it didn't make me happy.

Moving into a smaller place and making money off my money made me happy. So while I will say money is a factor in happiness, to me it's just about security, rather than material wealth and shiny things.

I live like a pauper now, but I don't think I would be happier living in a bigger place.

My current house is a 3-bedroom, 1-bathroom...but I much prefer it.

I'm still miserable though...but that has more to do with Canada becoming a communist country than anything else.

That's my car in the driveway, before I gave it to my kids' mom:

^ See that basement window/room on the right side?

I spent 90% of my wake time in their working on my website/YouTube.

That's when I realized: WTF am I even doing there?

  • I hope I'm not boring you.
Surprisingly the HOA and property tax bill on it are only a little bit under $100,000 a year (in line with the 9 mill -ish he paid for it in 2009), I was expecting it to be much higher. Granted the upkeep probably adds another few $100,000 to the yearly bill.

Kate Mara in Marky’s Shooter flick is one of the hottest women Fortress has ever seen.

Cool movie, too.

That’s all I’ve got.

I agree

You think it must be really nice to live in that level of luxury. I understand most getbigger's are accustomed to it.

But after awhile it has to get boring. It becomes the new normal. I mean if you live in a mansion like that where do you go when you need a break? You're not going to go stay at a Ritz and be impressed.  When this is your life what else is there to do? Workout? Read? Mountains of coke? Whores?

I'm rarely jealous, but Bro...

A wicked long time, pal

Comment is wicked smaart! (not the right film, or actor for that matter, but hopefully the right accent..?)

To the rich all this extra “stuff” is like owning extra T-shirts to us. It doesn’t matter if we never make use of them, throw or give them away,or wear a new mask everyday.  We have it.

The difference is that an asset like a Mansion costs a lot of money to maintain in addition to property taxes. There’s a whole market in Hollywood for celebrities who buy a big house and then fall off and have to sell to the next one hit wonder.

A lot of the spending among celebrities is also driven by the lawyers trying  to get a piece of the action when the transactions take place.

Marky Mark has done some cookie-cutter movies over the years, his last good movie was pain & gain with the rock.

He's certainly a hard worker but a big bullshitter  :D

Kids must be homeschooled, golf is the meta verse version, like how all business calls are within an hour block and the most time consuming event of the day is workout.

how many people live in that place? Sorry, but this is ridiculous and obscene!

Personally, I would be embarrassed living in such a place knowing millions and millions are struggling around the world....

to live comfortable and not have to worry, sure, but some place like this?

Always comes across like the stereotypical super-insecure overcompensating douchebag manlet, no hate ;D (trying super-hard to act like a tough guy, while everyone is just laughing at him behind his back)

Again you need to compare their income to normal people. Let's say the yearly up keep on this place is only a million. That may seem like a lot, but its not if your income stream is 30 million.  No different than a guy who makes 50k and spends $1600 a year on maintaining his home.

Do you have recent examples of these house flip celebrities? Do they go from mansions to slightly more normal homes?

I know years ago it wasn't uncommon for these people to.live above their means, Nic Cage is a more recent example and I think Depp within the last 10 years had issues but I think that was also to appear broke for a divorce.

Wahlberg bought this for $8.5  and is trying to sell it for $80. Even if he sold it for $40 it would seem he did okay...

I missed this first time round.  What a loser getting up at 2.30 - Brad Rowe is up hoovering the house at 1AM

Winner = vampire.  Who even needs evenings with their family - losers...

The best time to be up is between 2 and 7 am. Everything is quiet and you can get shit done.

The thing is for most actors, athletes and entertainers, the outsized income stream doesn’t last for very long but they maintain the same spending habits and end up bankrupt. MC Hammer is one that comes to mind.

https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/mc-hammer-spent-his-70-million-fortune-statues-himself-pool-shaped-like-his-iconic-pants-21-horses.html/

MC Hammer was $13 million in debt and went bankrupt

So much unfettered spending in such a short period of time isn’t sustainable for even the biggest stars. MC Hammer continued to release music throughout the ’90s, but in April 1996, the platinum-selling rapper had to file for bankruptcy with over $13 million in debt.
