The irony is that it's not about who trains the ''hardest'', no, too much extreme training can throw you into overtrained state in a heartbeat, it's about results and training smart (which means DON'T kill yourself in the gym!)

Jay won out in the long term, still won 4 and close to 50 and seems to have his health and looks in shape

Why ask such negative question??

You were the one talking about not killing yourself in the gym. So I asked where a good place would be? That’s negative?

You are the one talking about killing your self. Why are you so negative?

And, he won 2-3 more Olympias while still working that job.

I believe he did so to keep his health insurance and ultimately retired with those benefits.

My friend at the time said he was reserve, some type of part time officer that keeps the benefits. That all changed later though.

One thing about Ronnie also is he didn’t just do one show a year. I think that’s a big issue now is that guys only do bare minimum everything except drugs. Looking back at shows from 80s and 90s is much more motivating since the physiques are so different.

He won the first three or four as a full-time cop; then, he went to the reserves and won the rest. That "Ronnie Coleman: The Unbelievable" video was filmed in 2000, when he'd already won it twice.

Yep, and in the texas heat too. He was burning calories just being outside that 100 degree weather and working out at a gym with no AC

I’ve seen Ronnie train a dozen times during the 2003/2004 olympia days, he was def one of a kind

Being in the heat doesn’t burn calories even remotely as much as being cold. The body doesn’t burn energy to cool off. You sweat. It takes energy to produce heat. When the body is cold it becomes very inefficient and burns FAR more calories than normal in attempt to warm.
Not at all being a contrarian - just pointing that out. Many people equate sweating with fat loss and of course exercise does burn calories, but taking an ice bath can create visible results overnight.
