AOC was elected by the people in her district. The folks who voted for her felt prior experience wasn't necessary. Often, newly elected legislators and congress people have previous political experience which may include positions such as school board member or county or city councilpersons.   

So she was qualified because ….. she was elected by the people, just like Trump?


Portland's Mayor, Ted Wheeler had 10 years of political experience before being elected Mayor. This is his second term as mayor. The previous two term mayor was 16 years ago. Wheeler was Multnomah County Commissioner from 2007 to 2010 and Oregon State Treasurer from 2010 to 2017.

A police officer position is an entry-level position. Entry level positions do not usually require prior experience, but having it give a applicant an advantage. An associate degree in law enforcement also gives an applicant an advantage. Entrance exam testing including basic comprehension skills is typically required to be accepted as a police recruit and enter the training academy. Some police departments have volunteer officer positions in which applicants may have served.

I disagree with a PO being an entry level job, as I already addressed this, but  Being a police officer is an entry level position for what job, Detective? You can be elected sheriff without ever being a police officer. Is being a sheriff a good political base?

Who are you disagreeing with? Can't be me, because it isn't my call that a police officer position is considered entry level. If you are asking me what position an entry level police officer is qualified to be promoted to, I have no idea. I don't work for the police department in HR.

Since someone gets elected by the people for the position of sheriff and since a sheriff is answerable to the people, it is a political position. Some states have laws requiring certain law enforcement qualifications for anyone seeking election to sheriff. Which is how it should be, IMO.

-Not sure what being a sheriff is a political base for. Since it is an elected position, it does give the candidates experience in campaigning for political office. So there's that.

Prime do you ever get tired of your rhetoric?  You post googled information and when called out on it you say it isn’t my rule. You mistakenly mistook all police officer positions as entry level police officers.

You made the comment about needing experience, fine do you know what that means? Ted Wheeler was elected because he had prior political experience as a County Commissioner, what was his political experience  prior to that? You don’t know… of course not.  But he was elected and then re elected in a landslide because he was successful 10 years prior. Again all this information that had nothing to do with the original question, what was the point?

I hope AOC and President Biden are as successful in their service as Ted Wheeler has been.
