I normally just did a few sets of reverse curls with an ez bar which i do like but enjoying the grip training.
 :)

Same here, but I enjoy the grippers. Fun to do when just hanging around and feels good. I think it was a good investment and they are not overly expensive.

They definitely cant hurt, throwing in some extra work.
Ill take mine with me at the end of most workouts, I'll do 4 sets of seated calves (rotary) with the gripper super-setted while on that machine.
Or when doing cardio on a treadmill (rare in the nice weather months) but I'll do them while on the treadmill. Takes away some of that boredom for me...

I also do them on the treadmill. Makes the time go by quicker.

The best thing for grip for me is thick bar work (2 - 2.5"). Grippers are fun, and great for showing off to normal people, but they annoy my hands after a while.

I agree with this, also - not using straps

A set of fat grips is a great investment

You still reinacting your birth by laying naked in a pool of your own shit and crying outside someone's house? We all know that wasn't food poisoning, boyo. You're ducking me. "Help me, I need a month off! I'm taking up yoga instead! I need gender reassignment surgery because I ate some bad oysters!" hahaha. Just make sure you get some Immodium because you're gonna shit yourself again when I show up in 19 days and start swinging these hands around like wrecking balls.

I never used them.

Always trained without gloves or straps.

Hands are like a vice.

My hands got really strong when i used to do a lot of farmers walks.

Hand grippers are a fluff exercise and a waste of time.

You could hurt yourself.

Just do front or back squats and an occasional fingertip pushup.

Grippers are not "fluff" for those who like Strength. Some of the greats are grip-legends.
Magnus Samuelson, Shaw, David Horne, Joe Kinney, etc.

Those who are into pure and total Strength (not just BB) know all about the Grip Board, and all the freaky strong people out there who are grip-strength lovers.

Its just another tool, when used properly, one can benefit.
Like all the tools, thick-bars, rolling thunder, pinch-grip, etc, etc...

Its just another form of competition, etc.
Ive seen some amazing things (in person) watching Slim 'Hammerman' Farman (ROP), Dennis Rogers, Greg Matonik (RIP), Mark Henry w/ the Inch-Bell, John Wood, Pat "Human Vise" Pavolitis, and many more at the old NJ Strongman dinners. Good old days...

I find my gripper actually quite therapeutic as i had an injury which affected my hands, grip strength.
I mean look at some of these strong guys pinch gripping plates & such. I will definetly have to buy a captain crush one though as my grip is coming on fast. Now i just donŽt do full reps but try to keep tension on my hand/forearms all the time & doing static holds in the closed position.
Maybe it will turn into an obsession in my desire to have popeye forearms & crushing power.  :D

Hand grippers make you better at hand grippers, the carryover to other applications of grip strength is limited in my experience.

I have done a 1K deadlift lockout without straps and guys say I have one hell of a grip. Never missed a deadlift due to grip ever. But I can barely close a #2 CoC and no way could I EVER close a #3. It must have a lot to do with how your hand is built genetically.
