They might just be big time Carl Sagan enthusiasts. They're about the same small percentage as those who still wear turtlenecks so some overlap wouldn't be surprising.

I didn't know British people called them arctic necks. It doesn't roll off the tongue. You should adopt the Star Spangled Freedom term, as you so wisely did with Snickers in favour of the improbably named Marathon. Or are we talking about two different things and once again find ourselves separated by a common language?

The world has weird people in it. They think they're normal because they're all being weird together. And they'd say I'm weird for asking these questions. Like if I met them at a bbq or something. A bunch of non-polo players in polo shits with a picture of a man playing polo on the shirt would say I'm the weird one.

Anyway, just putting on my wetsuit to go to the grocery store. No idea why people think I'm into scuba diving.

Here is a little polo shirt history:

The shirt we all know as the polo shirt wasn't even associated with polo. It was created by tennis pro Jean Rene Lacoste. At that time, tennis players would wear a button down shirt and tie. Lacoste decided to come up with a more breathable lightweight shirt with just 3 buttons. Lacoste’s new tennis shirt became our modern day polo shirt.
