They might just be big time Carl Sagan enthusiasts. They're about the same small percentage as those who still wear turtlenecks so some overlap wouldn't be surprising.

I didn't know British people called them arctic necks. It doesn't roll off the tongue. You should adopt the Star Spangled Freedom term, as you so wisely did with Snickers in favour of the improbably named Marathon. Or are we talking about two different things and once again find ourselves separated by a common language?
