The best silhouette ever but when the lights come one and it's posing time, it's all downhill.

yeah he would've been the champ for sure without the posing being required, if they just stood there as you would in any non bodybuilding show setting

Fast forward to 2022, you are massive ...and Paul is quite small.

 :)

Thank you sir.

In the strangest, littlest way- that bizarre truth does make me smile. If only for a moment.

I remember when you could recognise all the Olympia competitors from their silhouettes

That’s weird, I usually recognize them from the color of the thong they are wearing and how they are stuffed

To begin with, someone needs to point out the blatantly obvious:

Amazing physique for a 27-year-old former sheet metal worker.

Next:

It's intriguing to me that a man that absolutely massive was apparently as weak as feathers - at least with respect to what you'd expect from a 6'1.5" / 285-lb giant of a man.
Who told you he was weak?? I've seen pictures of him doing barbell curls with 225 lbs

Anti-Black post reported.

Jk.  ;D

On a serious note, I was also flabbergasted at how poor his posing was. As beakdoctor said, how do you possibly lose shows with a physique that good, simply on the basis of poor posing?

But Paul managed to do it, lol. His posing was in all likelihood, even more bad than his physique was good - which doesn't even seem possible.

Granted, he did have a legitimate deficiency in his back density/thickness - something like that [not width - no issues there] - but his posing just did not highlight his tremendous gifts. I just pulled this up on YouTube quickly, and I must say - this is the best posing video of Paul Dillett I've ever seen, and isn't nearly as bad as some others I saw, of the form that beakdoctor described:

Who told you he was weak?? I've seen pictures of him doing barbell curls with 225 lbs

Dillett himself stated that he was only bench pressing 135-lb when beginning his journey to the 2006 Montreal Pro show. He had loaded 225-lb on the bar, but couldn't even get one rep.

So yeah, I'd say that is pretty weak, even after an extended layoff. Granted, my bench press went below 250-lb due to the pandemic gym closures, but now it's almost 350 again - well...315 handily for reps...I've just been avoiding max singles for injury-prevention reasons.

Not to make excuses - I guess I expected more from Paul because of his large size and muscularity. From what I can tell, I am stronger than he was in some lifts.

But hey - this is bodybuilding, right? So who cares what he lifts?

Bottom line - look at that shoulder-to-waist ratio, as well as his long, large arms. Very Goodrum-like:

By 2006 he couldn't press because of shoulder pain, not because was that weak. he stated that he couldn't even raise his arms above the head. Not necesarrily because of lifting injuries, could be severe ostheoarthritis or other degenerative joint issue.

Excellent memory of Paul's results from 16 years ago.

I had thought Paul's strength loss was just due to an extended layoff from training, until he started taking the MuscleTech stack again to compete in the 2006 Montreal Pro, at age 41.

Incredible physique in the first picture below - giant arms, huge delts, small waist, incredible V-taper...very Goodrum-like:

What a fucking monster....huge lats from the front, but back shots sucked.

If we was a tad drier and harder he would have been much harder to beat.

Maybe he is weak now, but you are silly if you think a man with 24'' arms was weak

As I said, Paul Dillett was always very Goodrum-like. So I'm sure he was strong...just not as strong as one would expect from a bodybuilder who was so Goodrum-like.

Agreed. Was Levrone suspended for wearing perform enhancing underwear?
