My background if track cycling then moved onto road cycling in my 20s30s and I moved to downhill mountain biking 5yrs ago. It’s all shuttles uphill, HI downhill. Energy is fine on local 2min trails for training but on my trips it’s all day events and I know 2,400 in absolute minimum for me to function.
Test at 250/wk was started to get my blood up. Yes I cheat in sport but it’s track cycling, mofos are on all sorts of things. I’m on trt anyway so I always bump up a notch 4+ weeks before my trips to get me through it then drop back once my trip is done.
Last time I did this it was 6 weeks going from zero to 12% and looking decent for an average guy (I looked great for my age). I remember struggling with low cals at that point, was eating 750/day and all day long only thought about food lol. This time I’m having 1,000 give or take and looking just to get in shape, 14% would be a milestone perhaps in 4 weeks time.
Day 4 now. I haven’t stepped on a scale, perhaps next week. Sore even from baby weights once this week.
