I only pull heavy, the rest is not maxed. Too many injuries, too many injury fears. I pulled 770 conventional. I'm too insecure to post video but tommywishbone saw it
This was a few years ago. Then came illnesses and injuries. I'm 45 now. Could I still pull 800? I don't know, I'm going to try. My elite pl friend peaked at over 45
Wait, what?! Why be insecure about a pull that heavy?
I have an extended Italian family dinner in 10 days, so I'm going to bring my body weight up to 210 for it. Just to be big for one last social function, because the freezing Canadian winter starts. Maybe I'll go to 213, just because that will be 0.4-lb heavier than I've ever been before [natural/fat], and I would be up 30-lb since my cycle started - then I can call it 30-lb gained on this cycle, then go off.
Once I go off, I'll decide where to settle, weight-wise, then train for strength, and hopefully get to a 540 deadlift at under 185. Just to be close to a triple body weight deadlift still, which I think puts one in the "very strong" category, whether it's a 540 DL at 180, 600 @200, 750 @250, etc.
And I would never feel insecure about that. Firstly, because a 500-lb deadlift is stronger than 99% of *lifters* [not just 99% of people, but even those who lift], and it's even more impressive to lift X weight at a lighter body weight. A 250-lb man deadlifting 500 is strong, but a 175-lb man deadlifting it is even more impressive.
So I feel no shame at all in posting lifts in certain ranges, even if I am well below the strongest members on here.
So Van - why, pray tell, would you not want to share a 770 DL video?
If you video-edited your face out so that you aren't identifiable, would that be better?

Why did Tommy Pheil to reach his goal?

Jk.
