Matt if you took the time to read the response some people don’t care enough to share videos.

If I had to guess  this type of person is probably concerned some weirdo will figure out they are, friend them on social media and unsuspectingly wake up one day to a masturbation video in their DM’s.

I'm curious to know specifically what Van Bilderass meant when he said he was too insecure to post a 770-lb deadlift video.  :o

If he meant it's because he doesn't want to end up with a video in his DM's of some weirdo manlet shooting ropes, then I get it.

Or if Van has hair loss and is insecure about that, of something else unrelated to his deadlift, then ok, fine.

If Van doesn't want some creep to potentially track down his family online, then I get that.

But if it's something related to the lift itself, then I don't get it.

I know I am stronger than 99.9% of the population, and more muscular/ in better shape than over 95% of the population [meaning that I would be the strongest person out of 1,000 people, and in the best shape out of 20 people, both of which I am confident I am].

So why would I possibly be insecure about being that much above average? It's strange to me that anyone would be - and my experience has been that many smoking out women are very insecure. But a friend of mine explained it like this: "If a part of your body smelled like fish, you would be insecure about it too."

LOL, that makes sense.

Maybe the other thing is that people are insecure because they are bald, or have bad teeth, etc. I have none of those. But I do have a massive nose, as well as a flaccid penis so small, that when I go to the bathroom, from the side, it looks like a stream of water coming out of a bush of hair.

But I'm not insecure about this. I guess I know I have too many good qualities that in just not.

As for being tracked online, I get that. I could understand how that would make someone insecure. Totally understandable.

But no one should be anything but extremely proud of deadlifting 770-lb.

Van is the man!

I remember Shawn Perine saying on IronAge, he benched 405 lbs raw, as a 16 year old kid weighing 140 lbs. LOL   ::) ::)

Ah. So the mistake was tolerating the pain for too long?

Do you have a high pain tolerance, or was it just that you didn't possibly think you'd need a replacement, given your young age?
Matt I don’t think my pain tolerance is any higher than anyone else it was such a gradual increase in pain. It started as an amusing clicking noise in my hip joint and got a little worse each year till at the end it was waking me up from a deep sleep. I would rollover in my sleep and it felt like a lightning bolt would shoot through my hip and lower back.My wife asked why are you torturing yourself. It is a somewhat invasive surgery but like I said the pain ceased almost immediately.

I'm 41, 5"9 and 203 pounds.  Lifetime natural.  Small arms, don't look strong.  Don't look fat.

This week, amongst other things, I've deadlifted 250kg/3, dipped with +80kg/2 and then reps on +60kg, db benched 62.5kg/7 and then did a couple of sets of 3 on 67.5kg dbs.  If it were bench, I would at the very least regularly single to 160kg and then drop back to 3 plates for reps.  I never benched 4 plates but came very close.  I've seen much better from others, but probably few of them natural.

I'm not substantiating any of that, you can either believe me or not.  It's a bit strong for a natural but given my bodyweight, it's not really that much different to you, Matt and super common type numbers for a powerlifter.  Even substandard in some ways.

Whether I can press those 165ers (75kg) right now, I'm not sure.  Maybe if I deliberately do very little up to them, I could get one or two.

Let's not forget the amusing truth that I am terrible at shoulders.  Squat is rubbish too, probably only 4 plates.  There is a lot of room for improvement in those two areas.

English do you speak or aint no one got time for kilogram bullshit what are you sometype of communist?

Those lifts you posted were wild.

How close are you to any of those today?

Ez bar curl I did 165 for 6 about a month ago.

Incline bench I did 340 for 1 about 3 months ago

Deadlift prob snap in half at 405

Incline dumbbells with 172s I did 1.5 years ago most recently I did 120s for 5 about 4 months ago.

Shoulder presses 100s for 8 or so about 2 months ago

I don’t really do any of these lifts anymore but once in a while I do them just to see if any strength left. I’m also sitting at 215 so way down in weight. My arm strength is still mostly there just not the rest of me. I know I could ez bar curl 205 for a loose couple on a good day. But I care more about arm size and feeling good than weight lifted. So for me higher reps and better form gets my muscle growing lately cause most my life all they got was heavy ass weight.

Also my 700 deadlift was just a one day thing. I never deadlifted just did heavy barbell rows 405-495 and dumbbell rows up to 220 so I was used to picking up heavy weights. So one day I did dead’s and just did singles from 315-700 and I did it but form wasn’t great and I felt horrible so I never did it again.

I never thought about it as being strong as overall, I could not bench press nor deadlift much. In the squat I was alone at least in our town.

My bodyweight was 245 to 250 lbs. My last workout at a gym before moving to where they did not have enough weight.   I warmed up with 130 and then, I think 225.  Then I put 515 on the bar and knocked out 20 easy reps.  Next 535 for another 20 easy reps.  Then 585 for 5 easy reps and finally 515 for a final kinda sorta easy reps, LOL!

One day there were two San Diego Chargers in the gym and they were at the squat rack.  I think they had 505 on the bar (it has been decades so my memory on their weight is poor) and I asked if I could work in.  I was warmed up from leg extensions and leg curs so I knew I was okay.  They were much taller than me, one of them was Dennis McKnight, the other gentleman was a bit taller and I didn't know his name.

They told me they "...didn't take weight off" but I could "work in" if I "could handle it".  Big guys.  I waited and watched as they both did 5 reps with that poundage.  I got under the bar, backed out and knocked 20 easy reps then racked the weight and said something along the lines of, "Well...Since you don't take weight off, can I put more on?"

They just looked at me.  This kinda gave me an idea that maybe I was strong on the squat but keep in mind that my brothers all laughed when I told them later about this.  They said the football guys "just weren't used to training with a 'tard" and so were unprepared as they or any of my friends I would occasionally train with would have been for  my "retard strength".   ;D

I have done vertical leg presses with 700 lbs for 50 reps.  Full, deep reps. not that stupid 2 inch movement seen on those sled press things. I hate those.  750 lbs on the leg extension and broke the machine.  My best bench at that weight was a puny 350 lbs.

I have tried deadlifting and one day my friends who taught me about J.C. Hise were deadlifting and I asked if I could have the bar for squats.  505 lbs on it and they said I could take it if I could lift it.  So I walked over to it, picked it up and walked it several feet to the tiered squat rack.  I set it on the lowest tier of the rack, then squatted down underneath it and did what is called a bottom-position squat.  That was hard as at the time I was only using up to 335 lbs (I think!) for my sets of 20.

At another gym I would train at, we had a shoulder press/calf raise machine stack that went to 365 lb.  A friend was using it for calf raises and I was urging him on from across the room and some guy  gave him shit for being "so weak" and said he could shoulder press what my friend was using for calf raises.  My friend told him to eat shit or something like that and the guy got angry with him and I thought he was going to hurt my friend. I went over, put the pin on the bottom of the stack and angrily pressed it up and then let it down with my right arm and then did it again but let it down with my left arm. The presses were smooth, no jerking but I was really mad at this fellow for being such a jerk.  I told him to do it.

He just looked at me and was quiet.  I am guessing that the weight was probably only 150 to 200 lbs for real (machines aren't like free weight!) but I was as my family would say "tarded out".  I pushed a Rambler station wagon maybe 30 or so yards up a slight incline on a hill as it died and my friend that owned the car said I couldn't do it and called me names until I  angry and got out and did it.  It nearly killed me and I did NOT need to train legs for a week or so after that one.  The hill was not real steep but it was enough of an incline that it was really hard to do and I had to rest and I bet it took me 20 or 30 minutes to make it.  I was creeping at the beginning and end as it was much harder at the beginning and at the end?  Brutal.

I realize that I cannot verify these as there are no films of these "Feats of Strength for Festivus" as my brothers would say years later. I never watched Seinfeld but they did and I finally watched a clip a few years ago.  ;D  They and a few folks could testify but again, no films so I do not blame anyone for not believing me!

I am now in the twilight of my years.  One of my brothers just had a good friend suffer a massive stroke and is now partially paralyzed and in assisted living. I am fortunate, blessed even to have made it back again with no apparent damage other than to my heart.  I can't train right now but not because my muscles are bad.  My legs are no longer strong but as I told my doctor the other day, I am not giving up.  It is unreasonable to think I will ever be really strong again so I will settle for being able to walk with our grandchildren.
DUDE....you were a fucking manimal !!

Props on some great feats of strength my brother.

I'm intrigued at how many bodybuilders worry about strength. From my experience this summer, higher reps are more productive for hypertrophy. And the literature is pretty consistent in showing that too.

Incredible lifts.

I sometimes wonder if I'm holding back to much. Even gaining the size I have on this cycle despite using so little + doubling my puny calories...it makes me wonder what progress I'd make if I stopped being such a health pussy [total hypochondriac].

I just hate the idea of doing irreversible damage...and that goes for injuries too. Even seeing how white I am - it's because I worry that I'll get skin cancer if I go out in the sun too much. So I avoid it completely.

If I messed in life and had to work for a living...I would never forgive myself. If I got vaccinated, and had a major vaccine injury, I know that nothing short of a religious experience would make me get over it.

So I don't take risks for this reason.

I also want to have a look that is sustainable 24/7/365 - for years, if not decades.

But I do think with improved nutrition [eating more], I could make improvements. Let alone with more gear.

In the meantime, I'll settle on anything close to 315/405/495 for my lifts, providing my health is good, and I'm in some kind of shape [around 15% body fat is fine].

Though the way you and others on here continued to stay strong or even get stronger with age...it does motivate me to think I can still make progress...and maybe I should stop worrying about injuries, and go out and make it.

Matt We are all Different accept it.
As far as your health & worrying is concerned Only you can control & decide
what you do.

I won my 1st British without any PED's
My second I was using IIRC 10Mg Dianobol I was 23

I have used I'd say reasonable amounts on & off since age 28/29
Most I've used was 2x250 suston every 10days or so 2x 200ml deca same
& 1x parabolan every 3-4 days these were all pharma grade & I was at my strongest & in really good condition almost contest condition. at around 95Kg.

I still use Test enathate or sustanon & usually Masteron.
haven't used Tablets in 25/30 yrs.
Without I monitor my heath & how I'm feeling continually - Though I intend to Keep using until I die or stop lifting - No I'm not Blase' about my health
Only I don't drink or Smoke or do other recreational Drugs - In that sense I've made my own mind up & weighed the potential risks up.

There are Risk associated wit all things in Life.

Am I trying to Convince you to take PED's NO I'm Being Honest about what I've done & use now.

I eat clean & plenty & keep myself in fairly Lean condition I'd say around 10% Body fat.

Train Hard / Train Smart & push yourself.

I only pull heavy, the rest is not maxed. Too many injuries, too many injury fears. I pulled 770 conventional. I'm too insecure to post video but tommywishbone saw it  :D

This was a few years ago. Then came illnesses and injuries. I'm 45 now. Could I still pull 800? I don't know, I'm going to try. My elite pl friend peaked at over 45

Huge Deadlift - Thats great Going !!
