I have some wonderful videos and photos from Pellius.

I would send him training videos and he would send me back 85,000 word responses with step-by-step videos on how to do the exercises correctly. He had such beautiful videos of him interacting with his family members. You could really tell how much he cared for them and vice versa.

I won’t post anything against his family’s wishes, but he was a great person and an amazing friend. He cared about Getbig and its members deeply. He definitely is gone way too soon.

Still strange how he died so quickly. Seemed to be in good health.
Did anyone ever find out if he died in surgery? He was scheduled for hip replacement surgery near the time of his death. Great guy to agree or argue with on bodybuilding. RIP

He was hilarious on here, and he took no prisoners.

The homeless guy story at McD's was/is an instant classic.

don't really know but having that surgery many times, it's not uncommon to get blood clots after. I had a pulmonary embolism shortly after my first one. not fun at all.

My personal experience says this is most likely what happened to him.  He had more faith than I and so I would say that it is my hope that upon closing his eyes as he went under the anesthesia  and  "opening" them, the next words he heard were "Well done, faithful servant".

Looks like Pellius' homeless nemesis moved to California and he's at it again:

That was one of the many corrupt states that were forcing the poison shots to be in a hospital.

He could have been in good health and still been killed shortly after.

Philip Gilkey was an interesting guy and internet warrior. He argued to the bitter end and never yielded even when against the ropes. At times he was a nasty prick but he was capable of ending feuds. That fight with the homeless guy did some physical damage to him and he eventually needed an operation. He said the operation was the worst decision he ever made. Maybe he contracted Covid or consented to the jab. Very strange for a guy with family and friends in Hawaii that there was no obituary/funeral.

I know many these days who give a pass on funerals, obits, etc.
Times have changed. The friends and family of those who pass know about it.
Many dont feel the need to pay big dollars to make a spectacle of it, and just keep things private.

These days, depending on where you live, the cheapest of the cheapest burials, no service, no funeral, no embalming, no obituary, just cremation and burial can cost $8,000 to $10,000.

Simply transporting the body to the funeral home/crematory, placing it in a freezer until it's ready for cremation, the wooden box where they cremate it, placing the ashes in a urn, the urn, the death certificate, etc. are all very expensive and add up quickly.

You can get yourself cremated in the UK for £1800

They pick up the body burn you and return the ashes to your family

Although he operated like a humbler and be a pain in the balls, I really liked the guy.
He had his values and said as he saw it.
Too bad he couldnt see the signs of possible heart failure, I can imagine he had chest pain, edema and shortness of breath for sometime which could be interpreted as some other ailments.
PIP great humbler

Operated like a humbler?

What do they do if a family just refuses to pay for burial or cremation?

I don't think it costs more than a a couple grand for cremation.

Burial is another matter if you want to be interred in a cemetery as you have to buy a plot and then might have a formal ceremony.

If you just put the ashes in a dumpster its very cheap.

What do they do if a family just refuses to pay for burial or cremation?

"Unclaimed bodies are mostly cremated in the United States. Cremation lowers the cost to the government, and is more efficient for storage. The ashes are often buried in a large collective grave, or in a columbarium (above ground mausoleum for urns). Ashes may also be stored in morgues, funeral homes, medical or private storage facilities. The state usually keeps a record of the person’s identity, if known, and where the urn was buried.

In Massachusetts, state law allows a funeral establishment to scatter unclaimed cremated remains in a cemetery area designated for that purpose after 12 months. The Oregon State Hospital has thousands of cremated remains in storage, and recently published an online searchable database to help identify next of kin.

Funeral homes may have what is known as the “cremation closet.” This is a non-public area where the unclaimed cremated remains are stored as they wait for a more permanent interment. And though there exists many horror stories about body storage, most funeral homes are respectful to the remains they have onsite, and do their due diligence to identify next of kin or arrange a burial."

It depends:

"Cremation package prices depend on the funeral home and location, but typically range between $2,000 and $10,000."

Agreed as he was a good man and as for the cause of his death,  not knowing any specifics I suspect an embolism of some sort.

Good to see you here, brother!   ;D

I went to the place where Pellius last worked to ask his coworkers what happened, but I couldn’t force myself to go in and talk to them.

I did have some contact with one of his family members and I’m going to visit more at Christmas time and see what I can learn. If they seem reluctant to meet, I will just let it go.
