I tried doing both snatches and split snatches many moons ago.....bar came down on my head on both occasions then I never tried them again.  :D

I was just fucking around but I did incorporate cleans and dead hang cleans in my routine back in the day.....all good movements if you can master them correctly.

I tried it with just the bar after reading this thread and it was a mess.  Will need to find a broomstick or something.

An absolute difficult lift, that's why most avoid it. I use it to get stretched out before squats. Most I ever used was 225. Pretty intense.

2-3 brutal Cutler-like pullups a fortnight while on gear for those type of results; maybe. But no back workouts whatsoever? No.

I don't do pointless and dangerous exercises (like deadlifts).
Yes it's awkward af. I tried one rep years ago and just said no. Never again. Extremely unnatural. What will you gain from it anyways (realistically) that you won't from regular back squats? It certainly won't make your muscles bigger by doing them over back squats.

I don't know why you would do them too out of all people.. being a heavy giant and worrying about your lower back and all..

Bet you can squat when you piss.  ::)

Kinda like a timing chain or a vehicles distributor , the firing order is different on ohsquats and it will tire you out more with less weigh5

For bodybuilding purposes? Not really, no.
If I'm exercising my lower body for example, then I want something that hits my lower body as much as possible, in a safe manner and to be able to focus 100% on my lower body.  I don't want to do an exercise for my lower bod that targets my lower and upper body 50/50 and that all my focus is on "correct form" and "I hope I don't fuck up my spine" instead of focusing on the muscles and feeling/chasing the pump.
If not for bodybuilding purposes then for what?

That doesn't sound healthy and safe for engines and that they'll gain anything from it (different firing order).

I never tried snatches (chuckle) but when Bill Starr showed up at Metro he got us all doing power cleans.Said it would help our deadlift. I got pretty good at the cleans but I don’t know if my deadlift went up any more than it would have without them.
