Not really. What happened? I remember when Roy Jones Jr. moved up to heavyweight to beat John Ruiz like he stole something. He hired Mackie Shilstone (sp) to help him do it right. He looked better than ever both physically and performance wise. Then the stupid mother fucker spurned a career high payday to do the same thing to Evander Holyfield and dropped the muscle to fight Antonio Tarver for less money. He won the fight but looked old, weathered, etc. In the rematch he got starched in the 2nd round and was never the same. Ever again.
I follow UFC regularly - maybe even more than I do bodybuilding lately.
I will be buying the pay-per-view tomorrow for sure.
That said, I don't know all the boxing champions. I'm a big fan of old Mike Tyson fights - IMO, no one looked more refined than him in his heyday.
Regarding Seth Feroce, he came in at maybe 211-217 to compete in the open in Toronto in 2011.
This ended up hurting him.
Had he come in at maybe 207, he would have beaten Bill Willmore, who was maybe 257-267.
Size does matter, but Seth could have beaten him had he maintained his 202 class weight.
Instead, he chose to come in at an open weight to compete in the open which was unnecessary. He should have competed in the open at his normal weight. Maybe a few pounds heavier max. If that.
And that choice to be heavier bit Serothe in the ass.
It could happen to Jones, but Jones is extremely confident that he can take Gane.
EDIT: it was the 2012 Toronto Pro. And I don't think Feroce competed much after that. He was very disappointed in his coach, Hany Rambod.
