I have never "seen" (that I can recall) anything the three times I died.  But the last time I was clinically dead for 6:39 and I could swear I heard things.   But it is said that sleep is death without the responsibility for a lifetime of action and inaction.

But then if punishment in Hell is eternal/infinite then no one would be punished because their crimes were finite. I always wondered if the show was real or fake.

I used to watch it when I was a kid because it was the edgiest stuff on tv. There were outlandish episodes like trannies hiding from their BFs that they were trannies, guys getting cucked by lesbians etc.

Jerry said he didn't have to pay guests on his show. 10% of the population would be on his show so there are over 30 million people in America who might go there. Of course who gets selected and on what criteria? Entertainment value? Confrontational value? Shock value? All three! The guests are primed before they appear. Their lines are rehearsed and if not emphatic enough they have to repeat it until satisfactory. So when they appear they get stuck into the prepared dialogue. When 'fighting' guests swing a lot and appear aggressive but seldom do you see any damage. When the producer rings the bell they immediately continue the fight. Jerry is clever and often quite humorous in his comments. Not the final comments which are pure platitudes.

Yes, the Bible could be written by Man to control Man. It has some good messages in there - better than some other "religious works" perhaps. I am not really an expert on the matter...

But forget about the Bible. It's not my book either. The last time I read it was decades ago.

What's the difference between a God that created the Universe and a Universe that created itself? Not much really. They are both fantastical concepts that require a leap of imagination. I would argue that a greater leap of imagination is required to reason that it all somehow happened on its own without a Creator. That's actually a more farfetched scenario and more implausible. Perhaps the Universe is the Creator?

As far as I am concerned, the Universe is extremely fine-tuned to such an extent that it could not accidentally have developed without some intervening power. Most scientists are in agreement with this.

I am curious though what is the source of the angst atheists display when it comes to the thought of a Creator being responsible for the Universe's existence. What is so threatening about that idea? Humans created the dog breeds. So in a very primitive way, we are also Creators. Eventually, we'll have AI machines that can really think for themselves. Humans will be their Creators. So why is it so difficult for atheists to consider that we might also have been created? It seems to me atheists are almost revulsed by this idea. Does it frighten them?

You need to start before evolution. When the Solar System formed all that existed were some of the elements of the periodic table. No life. It all started after the Earth formed and water developed. Billions of years. The moon was created when the planet Theia collided with Earth.

I see evolution as a method or tool of the Creator. When you build a house, it evolves from foundations to a roof. But you as a human Created that house. The footings were a necessary method that had to be built to support the structure of the house and allow the loads to spread out into the soil.

Vince, you have a common ancestor with a snake. Even a banana or spider. We evolved into human form and are related to our cats and dogs. We are even related to our cars. Everything came from the same primordial nebula soup. Our Solar System's Creators were supermassive stars that ended their lives via supernova explosions.
