There is no torn up sheet rock that is a green depth map of the local waterways on the wall not a hole in the wall and yes I said I need to get a new L shaped desk but this one works just fine  I just moved my office computer in from the dining room as I was overlooking the water but with kids home wanted to be back in my office

Working from home in my office in my house with a pool next to my kitchen and gym in my pajamas is 1000 times better than commuting from a one bedroom apartment in the Upper East Side to the Financial District in a monkey suit.  I have a way better lifestyle than people working on Wallstreet

This "very sentimental dad's chair" is exactly the kind of excuse I'm talking about.  Maybe true, may be technically true (like it was something from dad's house but nothing really sentimental about that), maybe a flatbread lie, but it distracts from the real issue which is "why are the arms so torn up and it looks so shitty"?  Then some BS ad hoc rationalization is offered to paper over the crack in the wall.

Don't you have $100 to not dishonor your father's memory and get the arms fixed?

I have considered getting a new chair many times but I love this old chair could I get it redone sure but then I come back to the idea of should I just get a new chair.
