for you high rep set fellas.. i have a couple questions... are you hitting failure on these sets of 25 reps? how much volume as compared to 6-8 rep workout? ive always thrown in some high rep shit along w the heavy stuff, but never a full routine... looking to give my joints a break for a couple months.

Neuromuscular failure....you don't recruit the entire muscle when lifting. Its done in 'motor units'. Lower threshold first and then so on. The more advanced the lifter, the more motor units can be recruited. The motor unit has to 'recover' before firing again. Lactic acid also is dealt with once pretty quickly once exercise is stopped.
Trained the motor units in my calves, biceps and abs last evening, legs incoming today.
