You want to fuck up your elbows have at it the lock out is a rested position. It takes all the stress off the muscle and risk hyperextension of the elbow
In the 25+ years I've lifted, I've never done that nor seen anyone hyperextend their elbows. If locking out takes the stress off the muscle, you're doing something wrong.

And this is why I question you. I am not doing anything wrong. Locking out the elbows absolutely takes the stress off everyone’s muscles not just mine the bones are holding the weight when you lock our not the muscle. Google it genius most bodybuilders do not lock out the elbow most powerlifters do lock the elbow everyone takes the stress off the muscle when locked out

I agree with Bhanky. This is why he does 1/4 rep squats.

Smart save the knees and avoid building any muscle on the legs.

Please proved the site you saw this on.  Hyper extension occurs only AFTER normal end range of motion occurs.  A resting position??  You do realize that the tricep is the muscle involved with forearm extension.  At extension, the tricep is NOT resting.  Stress on the bone occurs at all times due to the fact that tendons insert into the bone (i.e. enthesis).

I really don't know what possesses you to talk out of your ass

I've been at meets with guys benching over 600 and they always have to lock out, never seen a hyperextension of an elbow. bhank is just using a bullshit excuse for another half rep press.

Even at lockout the chest/shoulders/triceps are all flexed, supporting the weight, nothing involved in pressing relaxes completely. I don't know what is wrong with bhank, but I know he's an idiot and should never be allowed to give lifting advice, ever, to anyone.

I am not doing half reps I touch the chest every rep and reracked the barbell that is a full rep. There is a difference between fully extended and elbows locked. When locked the stress is on the bone not the muscle for fuck sake google you ignorant twats. Again by all means lock your fucking elbows I don't care but I know better. Same thing with a squat when you lock the knees you are resting.

The reason people lock out is because it allows them to rest and do more reps. Not locking out is harder but regardless locking out when benching puts undue stress on the elbow Joint and I already have elbow issues so no thanks. By all means do whatever the fuck you want "Hulk"
