Been having issues with my legs for months now, pain down the sides of my knee.
Spoke to guy who does blading and he told me to sit down and pressed my quad with his thumb, I nearly jumped off the bench.
I had a treatment on it last week , really painful deep massage and blades
Trained legs today ten minutes warm up on bike, some light leg ext , leg felt much better

did quite as lot of stretching instead of lifting...

I had pain in my hip for years, had various images of my hip taken and all showed nothing conclusive, finally they narrowed it down to a nerve issue in my lower back.

One thing Jeff said bothered me and got me thinking. He said Van can no longer lift heavy due to his age. But what is aging? Is it age related sarcopenia or is it an accumulation of injuries? We all get one injury after another until we just don't go as heavy. We learn less weight and more reps is easier on our joints.

But let's take a minute and back up. We all know injuries can prevent heavy lifting and we all get them. But at what point does actual age inhibit strength. At what point does sarcopenia actually begin in the weight trained athlete? Can hormone management slow down the process? At what point is age related strength loss inevitable? When are new PR no longer possible?  When does the body stop responding to resistance training and hormones? Does it? Do your muscles know your age? When will they no longer hypertrophy?

Can an aged athlete fully recover from old injuries and return to glory? When is it too late? Is there a numerical number or is it individual? How much is nurture and how much is nature?

I don't think numerical age is the issue. I don't think a muscle knows it's age. But we have all seen how difficult competitors have maintaining leg size as they age.

I would just caution anyone from saying they are too old. To beaten up maybe, loss of motivation maybe, other interest sure but too old..... I am not so sure

Call it whatever you want. I follow the science. They are saying by 2030 they can beat aging. You think they are going to do it with more veggies and water. I don't view aging as a natural process I view it as a treatable and possibly curable disease. What we understand aging to be is evolving and changing. Previous limits are being questioned. So fuck yes when they figure it all out I plan to get every stem cell treatment every DNA alteration to be more like an eternal jellyfish as needed. I want some new cartilage, but I also want longer telomeres I want to reverse biological aging by any means necessary. It's a complicated multi step process. What you can lift is merely one measurement of aging. I know I look 100 don't really care about that they will figure out collagen and skin rejuvenation in our lifetime. Keeping internals functioning and delaying buildup of plagues in the body is important now. But also yes absolutely strength matters I don't give a fuck if I am 70 I am going to be measuring and judging my strength as a sign of aging. It is still the best measurement we have.

I woke up several times last night with a deep pain in my left bicep. It was fucking awesome felt good to be alive. I missed lifting the last 6 weeks were difficult for me.

They matter to me. I get they stopped mattering to most of you a long time ago. Why? Did Sisyphus just give up? When did it stop being fun was it ever? When does compulsion end? Should it? What defines a man? Is it the destination? Who is to say how noble is the cause? My journey is not yet over by all means sit and rest. I have work to do
