Thanks Gym Rat
I thought it was badass and hilarious when he sat up and demanded double the weight. I don't let him train heavy. I watch him real close. I see no issue with kids lifting weights. He clearly enjoys it. He ask to lift weight we goof around as well it's not that serious.
Nothing wrong w/ it at all (kids lifting). I have pics of me at age 3, lifting the
HUGE 3-lb dumbbells overhead.
I still have the dumbbells if you can believe that one. 55 yrs later...
My dad and uncle trained, they would make the trek to Jubinville's in Holyoke MA on occasion to buy some things.
We lived in a 6-family tenement in Lawrence MA, and 3 of those families were our family, my Uncle's family, and my other aunt and her family.
So there was a big side-porch with the weights and stuff in it.
Everyone bought their own house not far afterward, and off to the Lawrence MA "Y" they went and would let me tag along once in a while.
The weight stuff they had made its way to our house and its how I started my home gym when I was 12. Been doing it ever since.
My father died early (had some serious health issues) but my Uncle is still in incredible shape at 84, and we still get together often...
(The guy literally looks 20 yrs younger than he is, and acts it as well)... (Gym everyday, home building projects for his kids, etc).
Very active still..
