She's a hot mess [my friend]!
But she was doing fine until her relapse last August.
It happened VERY fast.
I thought she could be pulled out just as fast.
No sign of yet though.
Some people should NEVER even drink a single beer, or ever use drugs.
My doctor said just giving her 7.5mg Zopiclone for 14 days [then 14 off] to force sleep at night would at least reduce her drug intake by the hours she spends sleeping...but won't even do that...
It doesn't get any easier than "Take a pill and lie down."
I guess hitting rock bottom may resolve it. It's still sad to watch.
Zopiclone is not a drug that always works even in the normal population. My mom uses it sometimes, they are trying to crack down on it, but even occasional use doesn't always work, or puts you to sleep for an hour or so only. Never having done crack I don't know if it is strong enough to really "put down" someone doing a lot of crack. So it might not be that "easy."
I don't think most hardcore addicts are ever going completely clean. Even if by doctors orders they are likely to be on a cocktail of drugs for the rest of their lives and they can still call themselves sober. At least the medical establishment says you're not "on drugs" if you're following doctors orders. Parents ask if their ADHD kids are now junkies and they say no.
So like I always say, the answer is more drugs, but better drugs, whether it's a junkie or 600lbs fat as on death's door. Forget "willpower," it doesn't have a great track record.
Now we have these Ozempic drugs or whatever, works a million times better than any mental coaching or willpower.
