  • Here comes the boom!!
I'm 36 and I'm starting to freak out about my age. I've never cared about doing young people things like partying looking good and all that. Most of my hobbies are old man hobbies.

But I'm starting to realize your body just starts dying, and it freaks me out. I always imagined aging as a very gradual thing, where it's mostly just slowing down until you hit 70 when everything falls apart.

It's becoming obvious that aging isn't like that at all. It's not a gradual slope, it's a series of events where body parts just stop working/dying etc randomly. When your young body parts get injured and sometimes it never fully heals but most of the time it does. When you get past 40 body parts don't rebound they're just gone for good, and you never know what's next, everything is fair game.

If you've been raised online the part that screws you up most is that your social interactions online don't age. When you post online your age is irrelevant. You talk to 25 year olds the same way you talk to 55 year olds. It's becoming super easy to forget your age. I always thought this was an amazing part of the internet age.

I'm starting to realize we as a society have a timebomb. Millenials are not gonna take turning 50 well. We live like we're freshman and unless you have kids there's nothing that is gonna help you transition. There's not gonna be much aging gracefully, in the past you have peers who are of the same age and that helps you transition, but we don't have that nowadays.

We already see it with Wine Aunts, but I think it's gonna hit very very hard. In the past people had religion and family to help transition into getting old. Millenials are just so spoiled they aren't built for adversity, especially one where there's no way out.

I've had an "age crisis" since about your age lol, 46 now. Thinking about age, seeing the age related decline, thinking you are now an "old man all of a sudden." It's been and is hard to accept. I ask friends if aging freaks them out but they seem much better at accepting it lol.

Regarding longevity and testosterone I read this piece the other day. You are not supposed to have high test when older and it ages you even faster. You're NOT supposed to have a sex drive like an 18 year old. If anything you should supplement with estrogen!

https://novoslabs.com/testosterone-replacement-therapy-and-anti-aging/

Guys, if you have the patience to read that I'd like your opinion.

I already know I'm unlikely to let go of the "high" testosterone, in my head it's like the life force itself!

Probably an biologial reason for why test decreases after mid 30's. Has to be a protective mechanism...

Im 57 and just getting going!   ;)

Seriously though, you'll hit a spot where you've lived quite a while (you start to care less), then when very old, you look FWD to checking out.
Especially in insane times like we're in, w/ no going back... I know a couple guys in their 80's who look FWD to the long rest...

Oh I get getting old is never easy. I grew up with my grandmother, I've seen it all. My mom's mom took aging very well(born 1928) my dad's mom took it horribly(born 1943). I talk to boomers and they are even worst etc.

Like just look at hair dye. An entire generation of women in their 50s no longer go gray. It fucks you up, because it makes you feel like no one is aging.

I think it's worth mentioning, genx in my opinion is objectively cooler than millenials, in the sense they've done cool shit, had interesting sex lives, and can talk in interesting ways.  So unlike in the past the generation gap makes you think people 20 years your senior still think and act like young people.

My parents and my inlaws were born in 61, 62, 63 and 64. None of them have white hair, and they were pretty healthy until basically covid started and then they hit a brick wall. Everyone of them could easily still pass for 50. My father and mother in law even works out/runs twice a day. My parents just built a cottage with almost no outside help. But it's like they're about to jump from age 40 to age 70 in 5-10 years.

Oh i get the testostorone bit, but that's sort of the point hormones dropping seems only natural. Like I'm prepared for that, I have old man hobbies, I have no desire to be out fucking models, partying etc.

It's the other shit that gets to me, knees, ankles, hibs, etc just crapping out and never rehabbing. bladder control issue, not being able to eat certain foods, not being able to sleep right, losing hearing, losing IQ points etc.

Like I'm overweight and 5 years ago I could carry being overweight just fine. I mean I knew I looked like shit, but I could move get around and get faster and stronger with exercise. Now it just seems like I just can snap back into shape.

Yes I imagine they will lose their minds as they lose their minds over everything.

Best not to worry about things you cannot control. Completely pointless.

As far as "high testosterone" goes, sides can come when too high (like any drug or compound).
Just keep it in "sort of" high normal (700-ish) and I think most will be fine.
Too many clowns pounding a gram or more for "TRT" and its laughable...

The other day I was playing baseball in Boston and this dude got up to the plate who looked like he stepped into a portal in the 1920s and just appeared on our field.  RF moved in because he was shorter, and the pulled the ball over the RF head. As he was going into second for a double, he fell on the turf, rolled, and his helmet fell off and went into CF.  I ran in and gave it back to him.

Anyway, found out the next day the guy was EIGHTY TWO.  Forget the hit, run, etc....broseph fell hard and got right up no problem.  And he hit it off our regular staring pitcher.

So I do believe it's gradual if you keep moving and never stop putting in work.

For sure, like I said I want to be an old man the coolest member of my family was always my grandfather. He's the only guy who had the balls to make cock and ball jokes at our Christmas dinner.

You've just met my grandfather.

But I just watch liberals my age get infuriated by the idea that gender is a thing. I see guys watching porn with 18 year old porn stars, and I can't imagine them every wanting to fuck a 45 year old millenial.

My gut is telling me it'll be covid all over again, where the whole world has to get turned sideways because a millennial hits 50.

You're not supposed to be worried, you're supposed to be living.

If you're like me you'll cruise right through your 50's no problems at all.

But once you hit 60, yeah shit starts catching up with you.  The weeds you were running through are now grabbing around your ankles lol. Life becomes more about pain management.

I sometimes wish I was doing TRT but I'd have to hide it from my wife, she won't have it.

No shit and he calls a lot of us old.

I benched 300 weighing 150 pounds in the late 1980`s (double bodyweight) and when in good shape I typically do DB Rows pyramiding up to a 100 pounder for sets of 10 with a dead hang to stretch out the lat in the bottom position, but I`m old and weak and never ever even weighed 200 pounds.  :D

You only have a short time left and have no one to pass the wealth on to, so just enjoy life to the max.

Worst thing is many of these types are really stingy with money, like diluting their orange juice with water to save money. Logically you'd spend it all but it's not about logic, it's a personality type but I still get irritated.  :D

I'm a happy dinosaur in these weird fucked up times - I want no part of this PC / Libturd
Stupidity & say it as it is, if & when asked about anything - I'm as entitled to my view & right
to be accepted & understood as anyone else.

The acceptance & understanding thing works both ways.  ;D

I have an old neighbour who's all alone, no relatives no nothing. Lives a pretty shitty life.

I always wondered but felt too rude to ask, why doesn't he sell up the house for 300k and then rent a room in a nice nursing home + spend part of the year banging/getting banged by ladybois in thailand or a similar place.

You only have a short time left and have no one to pass the wealth on to, so just enjoy life to the max.

A nursing home will kill you quick.

Best thing he can do is stay in his own home.  Hire out maintenance if necessary.
