You guys also need to understand once you have an umbilical hernia the motivation to get shredded isn't great as when you get too lean the hernia looks worse. It doesn't matter how lean you get the midsection isn't going to look great with a Hernia. It will be interesting to get super lean and see what it looks like in 6 months but right now I still have swelling and I still need to heal. You are going to heal better with a calorie and nutrition surplus.

I can't wait until he tears his mesh or hernia or whatever.  Seriously, what is the most you'd squat or deadlift with if you were in your late 40s and had this operation? 

He'll never squat with 315 again, nor should he frankly.  I wouldn't.  Same with deadlifts, what's the point?  Do higher reps for  the development.

While I have no intention of going into full powerlifting this year the idea that I am not going to squat 315lbs again is comical. I will absolutely bench, squat, and deadlift 315lbs for reps again.
