I do think that we have our way of life at least in part because of how we manipulate the rest of the world. I think there are national interests in keeping other regions divided. I can see why having a strong Israel would be beneficial to the USA. But there are also ways that it can hurt us with other countries in the region. I think it is healthy to have continual re-evaluations of our relationships to other countries to see how much it benefits us versus harms us.

I think being pro-Israel is different from being against anti-semitism or against terrorism. I think lobbyists and special interests have a clear agenda in blurring that distinction.

But just because Hamas MAY not have beheaded babies doesn't mean that they're great people.  They're murderers and terrorists.

I heard a story on the radio about what Hamas had done to babies in the areas they attacked. Horrible.  Just fucking awful. But there's absolutely nothing I can do about it. Israel might as well be Mars. Even if I had the ability to personally execute everyone responsible for such an attack, there would still be people alive that harbor those ideologies and the problem would persist. So what's to be done?
